The Game [soccer event]

The moment the coin flew into the air, Aspen had felt her breath being taken away. The arena was filled with students, staff, guardians, residents - it was terrifying. The autumn did play soccer before but she never played a game in front of a huge crowd, she felt butterflies forming inside of her stomach already. This game was a big deal, it'd be embarrassing too lose in front of a huge crowd like this or make a stupid mistake - everyone needs to do their absolute best. It felt like they were two big-shots teams going against each other that you would watch on TV, like the world cup or something. The blonde wore her jersey confidently, it looked nice on her. The blue looked soft, it was her favorite color - soft, blue. The autumn even painted blue streaks across her cheeks for spirit of the blue team, it was tradition too do it back at her old school.

The autumn blinked from surprise, as they announced that her team had won the coin toss! A smile had graced onto her features, she never ever won something like a coin toss - she considered herself too have the worst luck, she was still clueless on why she had been named captain, even though she had great skills in the sport. Placing her hands on her hips, she had thought about the decision; Too start with the ball or play on defense? With a few moments of thought she had finally come too a conclusion. "We'll start with the ball." The team had too get the hands on the ball first, get used too handling it and mess around with the other teams defense it was a good thing she won the coin toss. Glancing towards the other Captain; Leo Herman, Aspen smiled towards him. "Let the best team win!" She said cheerfully giving the boy a friendly thumbs up as she started walking back towards her own team.

The autumn's gaze changed looking rather serious, the roaring of the crowd was becoming more intense. "Give it all you got everybody!" The autumn had pointed her finger towards the tricky field and let her hand hung out. If they wanted they can give her a high-five, if not then it'd be awkward for her.

Corin's stomach twisted, the crowd was going insane. She never met the team leader herself so she was completely clueless on why she was on her team. The spring glanced towards the sky, rain fell softly from the clouds above leaving the field slick with mud. Corin herself didn't mind it, the thing she hated were the Jerseys, she didn't look good in blue. When she had realized they won the coin toss, the spring looked towards Aspen giving the blonde a curt nod and a determined gleam. They would win this game for sure, giving a glance towards Cassandra she gestured her towards the field with her shoulder before racing towards it. A bit surprised when Aspens hand stuck out, a smile eased onto the spring as she stuck her own hand out too give the autumn a perfect High-five.

Leo stood a few feet away from the other captain, his hands, which were covered in orange goalie gloves were at his sides. Leo wore a orange jersey, and white exercise shorts. His shins were protected by his shin guards and covered by a pair of orange socks. His blue eyes didn't give away any emotion when the other team got to start with the ball. He didn't mind. There was an entire game to be played. As long as the blue team didn't score five times in a row, he'd be fine. Of course, that would mean he was a terrible goalie. Leo had high hopes for himself in that position, however.

Once the other captain picked her side, the orange team captain gave her a thumbs up back, heading to his own side, the left. "Good luck~" As he strolled back to the goal, adjusting his gloves, Leo gave a few pointers to his team. Once he was in the goalie box, the angel boy readied himself, glancing at his team before giving them all a wide smile. "Let's have fun guys." His cleats dug into the green grass below, tense like a coiled spring. Ready to block any shots that came is way. It wasn't a major thing for Leo, although, there were quite a lot of people who were watching. He hadn't really expected this many people.

Lykos stood in the position of midfield, between the offensive players and the defensive players. He's be running around most of the time, he realized. However, he knew that there would be a lot of physical contact within the game today. He'd most likely get a boost from any anger from the other team. Which meant good things for the white haired boy. He too was decked out in similar clothing as Leo. Minus the goalie gloves, as he wasn't goalie. A dangerous grin was set on the boy's face. Ready to begin.

For once, she was sober. Mostly.

Evelyn fidgeted in place, her eyes darting from side to side from behind her bangs. She looked like a frightened animal ready to bolt. Why did I sign up for this? Honestly, Evelyn didn't remember. Like most of her poor decisions these days, she hadn't exactly been in a clear state of mind when she scrawled her name onto the sign-up sheet in the hallway. Had it been a dare? A joke? Who knew. Certainly not her.

At that point, it would've been too embarrassing to just back out.

And now here she was, in the rain and mud, surrounded by scary looking people on both teams. All Evelyn could pray for at this rate was to not be noticed. Maybe then she could get through this game in one piece.

Jane had been more focused on adjusting her sky blue headband than the coin toss. She'd followed her captain's example and  given herself some "war paint", two blue streaks on each cheek, and grinned once she was all ready.

She wasn't exactly expecting to be the MVP; she'd kicked a ball around a bit in elementary school, but a string of hospitalizations had left her too weak to keep playing on any serious level. Still, in weather like this, a game would be good fun win-or-lose. You weren't having a good time unless you got a little messy in the process, right?

Jane answered the captain's high-five and smiled. "Let's kick their asses, yeah?"

Blue electricity snapped over her head like a whip.

Kayla jogged out onto the field, lightning burning in her palm and reflecting in her eyes. They hadn't let her wear her hat, so her hair was down for today, lusterless mousy locks that brushed her shoulders. Still, anybody could have recognized her from the electricity that twined around her arms and legs like blue-white snakes.

Positions, formations, rules. Kayla didn't know anything beyond soccer beyond "kick the ball and keep kicking it until it's in the net" and "don't touch it with your hands unless you're the one with the gloves." None of that mattered to begin with. She'd been picked first for Blue Team for a reason, and it wasn't because she'd impressed anybody with her dribbling.

Everybody took their places—goalies, centers, forwards, blahblahblah. Kayla took her spot a few yards behind the ball, dropping into position, with a hand on her knee. She was a lean, pale shadow with an almost maniacal grin on her face. This would be fun, wouldn't it?

The whistle blew, and Kayla sprung forward, slamming her foot as hard as she could into the ball. Electricity crackled around her cleats and the checkered ball went shooting through the air like a bullet, nailing an Orange player right in the face. She was laughing, kicking up mud and grass with every step, and ran forward after it.

OOC: So I thought I'd start the game and give everybody an idea of how the system works.

The ball starts in the Center part of the field. Orange Team guards the left, Blue Team guards the right. My character, Kayla (Blue Team), took possession of the ball and is trying to advance it to the next portion of the field (the Left side).

So now I roll a dice.

I rolled a 9, which means Kayla successfully advanced the ball to the Left side of the field. Since it was successful, no one can steal the ball from her (not yet anyways). I can edit my post as fitting. Any questions? :3

D'angelo loved the sound of the crowd. He lived for moments like this. Always in some type of sport, he got used to dealing with an audience at a young age. Walking on to the muddy field throwing on his orange jersey; while wearing white shorts, white socks that covered the shin guards, and orange cleats. Looking over to his team captain, giving a friendly thumbs up. "Good luck!" The Autumn said with a big smile to his team as he went to take his position as a forward.

The whistle had blown and D'angelo watched as the blue player kicked the ball and struck one of his teammates with the ball. What a bad way to start for that poor person. Thinking to himself as he jogged toward his goal. Waiting patiently by another blue midfielder. Ready to dart off toward the opponents' goal the moment his team had gained possession.

Kayla blew past Juliette as the ball bounced off her face and back into the air. It came crashing back to the ground, sending up a spray of mud and grass, and her foot connected with the ball as it came bouncing back up. The goal was straight ahead.

The ball went flying forward again, leaving a trail of blue electricity behind it like a comet, right toward Leo. Shit!

The painful looking beginning caused Leo to flinch. That didn't look too good. Although, he supposed, her power was regenerative healing. It was better that she was hit than any other student. He was brought away from his musing when the girl plowed through the defensive players. Eyes wide, he quickly got into position, putting his holy powers into his hands to lessen the damage, as it looked like she was going to put some of her electricity in the ball. Why wouldn't she? Kayla was the other 3rd place winner of the tournament, so Leo knew not to underestimate her. The ball was launched right at him, however, and the boy caught it with relative ease. He shook off his surprised look, before drop kicking the ball back into the field, his aim for at least midfield. The ball did make it to where he was hoping it would go, however, he could see another Blue team member stealing it before his team could get to it.

The autumn had came in at the perfect time. Aspen's eyes glowed at the moment she stole the ball, the blonde pushed past others as much as she could too get the ball too another player. Looking towards Corin, Aspen had kicked the ball over too her hoping that another player wouldn't steal it.
