Judging the Distance [Open] - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Judging the Distance [Open]   Judging the Distance [Open] - Page 3 EmptyMon Dec 21, 2015 8:18 pm

Within a split second of the two older students drawing their weapons, and a flash of light, a barrier of energy had been created separating the aggressors from the two initiates and the summer. Daniel's hand was off to the side a soft glow sitting at the tips of his fingers. The barrier wouldn't last long, and Danny knew that but it was just enough to stop anything from happening at the moment. If either of them tried to cross it they would be badly burned, or damage, being mad of metal or not. He shot the two people across from them a glare. "This is your last chance. Back off." He said with a growl.

"Shut up!" Larissa shouted as she raised her right hand quickly, aiming it right at Maria as her hand glowed brighter from absorbing the energy around her. However, she was quickly cut short as Daniel threw up the "shield" in front of her and Gabe to separate them from Maria and Jake. Caught off guard by Daniel's interference, all of the power she was charging quickly dissipated, leaving her completely normal once again except she didn't drop her hand. Just in case. She didn't want Maria trying anything and none of Larissa's anger had boiled off yet. She simply stared dead-eyed at the autumn.

"That's enough."

The Autumn prefect strode towards the group from the direction of the bleachers. His usual sweet demeanor was replaced with something more stringent, yet still altruistic towards the newer students. Hands closed into fists, and  face forced into a deep frown. Although, to Jake and Maria it may even be considered scary how different he seemed than usual. A furious Leo was bound for scolding. With a surprising amount of strength, the prefect shoved his two dormmates away from the siblings and bystander.

His first target was Maria. Whom was decked out in armor and a sword, and looked ready to fight two obviously new students. If their uniforms were anything to go by. Leo's hand lashed out at her wrist and caught it, then proceeding to twist it to the point where she would drop her weapon. A painful way to go about it, but it was the quickest way to dispatch the situation. Once done, the prefect placed a foot on the smooth edge of the sword in order to prevent it from being picked up again.

Blue eyes glared up at Maria. He was two inches shorter, and refused to let the small height difference make her feel any significance against him. A finger pointed towards her face as he spoke again.

"Why are you instigating a fight against these students?" Leo didn't wait for her to answer his question. "They said they did not want to spar, yet you continued." The blond took a step back, getting out of her face. "I thought you would know better, so I didn't step in right away... " He huffed before turning towards Jake. "I was sorely mistaken. Put your armor and sword away."

Next target was Jake. Who wasn't as much to blame, yet he had also readied himself to fight the others. Then also continued to back Maria after they had said no. "Same goes for you, Jake." With his lips pressed together, the prefect turned away from his dorm mates. A hand racked though his blond hair.

Blue eyes looked back at the other three. "I'm sorry if these two gave you a hard time. I should have stepped in earlier." A sigh escaped him, and his face relaxed to a soft smile. "I'm Leo Herman. The Autumn prefect. It's our jobs to step in if fights happen... Among other things."

Maria took a step back from the prefect, giving him no more than a glare and frown. The girl rolled her eyes. "Geez Leo, always ruining the fun." She smiled mischievously, not showing the fact that she wanted to chop his head off. With a flash of light, the armor and sword were gone and Maria was back in her ugly af uniform.

Jake almost jumped out of his skin when Leo appeared. He wouldn't admit it but he always had a small hidden fear for prefects. Which was probably from his days on the streets, having to deal with cops. "S---sorry Leo." Was all the tall student said, transforming his arms back to normal.

Gabriel put his swords back. "Thanks for stepping in. That could've been a tad bit messy." he said.

As soon as the prefect had appeared the energy barrier disappeared. It wasn't going to last that long anyway, it was weak but strong enough to deal damage if they tried to cross it. Even though the prefect had appeared and seemed to be defusing the situation, a soft blue white glow sat at the end of Daniel's pointer, and middle fingers. He wasn't going to relax until he saw that the other two students weapons were away. Once they were gone the energy faded, and his amber eyes looked up at the Autumn prefect in front of him. "Thanks." The initiate said, his voice keeping a steady tone. The young boy took a step back looking to his sister, and his new found friend. They both seemed alright.

When Larissa heard Leo's voice, she stopped and turned around to face the prefect. She could still feel aggravation, but it was quickly dissolving as the boy stepped in and began scolding Maria and Jake. As her power faded and her hands went back to normal, she took a deep breath and quickly made her way to her brother's side, giving a small smile to Gabriel. "Thank you, Gabriel," she said quietly as Leo continued to yell at the two older students. As soon as he turned to her and Daniel, she paused and smiled back. "Thanks. I-I'm Larissa... Wicker," she told him, feeling a little bit bashful.

Leo's head titled towards Jake, one eyebrow raised. "If you really are sorry, say it to them. Not me." The prefect looked back forward. Towards the other students. He nodded at Larissa, who had introduced herself. Then turned his eyes towards Danny. Leo didn't want to make him feel bad, but he continued to speak to him. "You may be eager to train, but you are still new students." He glanced between the two siblings as he spoke. "There are plenty of teachers or guardians that will help you with your powers. Doing it on your own could be dangerous." And from what Leo saw when Larissa lashed out at Jake and Maria...If her brother had not reacted fast enough, Jake and Maria wouldn't be the ones he was reprimanding.

Maria gave a sigh looking over at Jake. Geez. Really showing them how tough you are, aren't ya?

"Sorry guys." Jake mumbled. He didn't want to seem like a total jerk when Leo was there but he would defiantly take on the two shrimps later.

Maria couldn't take it anymore. "Why are you so damn submissive?" She said flatly, giving Jake a light hit from her hand on the top of his head.

The tall student should've know something like that was coming. "Fuck off." He muttered rubbing his head. "At least I don't want to end up in the deans office."

Gabriel sighed and crossed his arms. "You got something you want to say to Leo? Or are you just 'submissive' like your mate over there?" he said, sneering. He was really beginning to hate Maria.

Daniel still didn't feel like he was doing anything wrong even from the slight scolding from the prefect. He was just trying to get his gift to travel further, so there wasn't any harm. It wasn't like he was destroying anything or purposefully aiming for students. Danny stuffed his hands into his pockets and just stood there not saying anything.

When Leo turned around to scold her and her brother, Larissa couldn't help but move her gaze immediately to the ground. She was a little bit ashamed at how she reacted, but at the same time it felt necessary. She didn't think she'd done anything wrong and felt a little justified in her actions, but she wasn't going to speak up against a prefect. It wasn't like he was trying to get them in trouble, he was making sure they were staying safe. She was glad for it. She couldn't control her power enough to make sure no one got hurt. Honestly, she had no idea how powerful that energy beam would have been had she released it at Maria. There was no way of telling... yet. Hopefully that will change down the road. "S-Sorry Leo..." she muttered, not being able to look up at him. She hated making people upset. Except for Maria. Larissa didn't like Maria at all right now.

Leo gave the siblings a smile and responded in a gentle voice. "Don't worry. No one was hurt." These kids didn't do anything wrong. If only his dorm mates weren't picking a fight with the newest students, they would not have a problem. At the thought, Leo turned back to face the two, a stern look crossing his face. "Now if you two bother these kids again, I will be writing you up. Beata supposed to be a safe haven for kids. Not to worry about their upperclassmen trying to beat them up." A pointed look crossed his face as he glanced at Maria. "At least he has the sense to know when to back down."

Maria gave a small "pfft" and turned around. "Come on Jake, lets go." She said with an annoyed frown. The girl started to walk off and stopped, waiting for him to catch up.

Jake stood there looking at the ground. He hated how he was so submissive towards her but he could never deal with a woman's wrath. "Again, I'm sorry guys." He whispered before turning around to follow his dorm mate.

"Slow much?" She teased when he caught up and the two walked off.
