Capture the Flag [site event] Ojl7Yae
A soft breeze stirs the branches as the sun dips below the mountains. Dusk seeps into a soft twilight. You're standing with your team in a fortified hollow rimmed with trees and boulders, with the flag at your fingertips. Defenders will be allowed to customize their own base when the game begins, but no one can move the flag out of this clearing.

The moon appears above the treetops. A horn echoes through the forest... The game has begun!

Start the battle!

The Taiwanese student had taken her time to decyper the jumble of English words. Capture the flag. It was known to her as a game that she and her classmates back at home had played often. So naturally she wanted to play. However with a lack of decent English skills, she decided to play in the background, setting up traps around their 'base'.

First and foremost, a barrier of pressure pushed outwards, making it extremely tough to enter. They'd have to put forth a lot of effort to push past it. Jae hoped her teammates followed along with her plan. She was the last line of defense.

The girl sat in a tree just within the boarders of the barrier. A sai was held clumsily in her hand. The only thing she knew remotely how to use is her own power. What was she going to do with this dulled item of metal?

She was ready. Today was the day she could go all out. of course she couldn't hurt anyone, which was a bummer but it would still be epic. She glanced around at her teammates, enjoying their reactions. Some more panicky than others. This is gonna be fun. Beat up some people and steal the flag. Easy enough, right? Her face held a malicious grin as she cracked her knuckles.

Wow! How exciting, Capture the flag! Pepper had never been part of a team sport such as this, especially not with a school full of gifted students. The smaller giggled with excrement looking around to see who were her teammates. Quite a lot of initiates and people she didn't know... Well, no matter. This was a great time to make friends!

Capture the flag with powers, it seemed like an idea straight out of a filler episode of a fantasy show or the main story line of a crazy show. Hearing the horn start Harrison ran towards their base obviously for the flag. Looking around he could spot some familiar faces but first of all he need to get higher up and so used his power to jump from rooftop to rooftop. Dulled blades were a great idea for him and so he decided to use his 12 blades instead of his scythe as he rushed jumping from the tops of trees towards their flag which seemed so far away.

========================================================

Hearing that weapons were allowed had shocked Sarai but when they had said they would be dulled she had been relieved. She had thought she would join the team but not in a defense or offense role but a supportive one. She would sit back near their base and scout out the battlefield and inform some of the defenders about the battles and events that would be going on. Although she disliked battles, she classified this as friendly fighting and had let this go.

A small smile appeared on Myles' lips when the horn rang and he reached into the front pocket of the flannel he wore out. As he gripped the thing in his breast pocket he looked at the blue flag, the thing to defend.  He nodded his head as he pulled out a small stainless steel flask that he bought from Rosebury.  It was easier to hide in your pocket than a water bottle, even if it didn't hold as much.  He took a swig from it, putting it back into his right breast pocket and buttoning it shut.  He grabbed the first thing he could from the training room to use and it happened to be a large Bowie knife with a cloth-leather hybrid sheath that hung from his belt.  He decided to await the movements of his teammates and decide on his method.  He could track and hunt with the best of them, but getting into the thick of attack was also something to be happy about.  He packed migraine pills just in case.

Thaddeus had been filled with the utmost excitement at the prospect of a competition. Something almost feral had stirred within the Irishman as he prepped for the eve game. Capture the Flag - the notion familiar enough - except for the fact the participants had all kinds of gifts and weapons were allowed... and did someone mention something about monstrous obstacles? The lean youth couldn't quite believe the last part but at least he felt ready. He stood there now, quarterstaff at the ready in his belt, and eyed his fellow Autumn and Winter team mates. As the sound of the horn rose above the trees a mischievous smirk spread across his face. This was going to be epic!

Matthew grabbed the metal balls from his pocket and quickly let the metal envelope his arms. He wasn't used to fighting, but this was a good time to learn. He looked over at his teammates, noticing that he knew very few of them.

Mikaela wasn't sure what she was supposed to be doing, but it seemed like a lot of fun. Hopefully, her power wouldn't overload when everybody was running around, stomping on the ground. She felt a little nervous when she heard the horn, but that wasn't going to stop her.

Martin looked around. 'Why did I sign up for this?' he thought. He looked over to Caleb and noticed that he seemed pretty excited. "Uhm.. C-Caleb?" he called out to him. He was hoping that Caleb would have the same idea as him and they would merge, allowing his friend to use his fire powers while Martin himself would simply be a consciousness.

Bobbi nearly leaped with excitement. She hadn't been here long, and she was already participating in a school event! Hopefully, her teleportation would come in handy.

Whywhywhywhywhy. That was the single thing running though Devin's thoughts as he gripped his dulled scythe, his knuckles turning white from how hard his hold was. Why had he signed up? He hated fighting! He had never fought before! He shook his head, his tail flickering as the moon rose over the forest and the horn bellowed. It was time. Only his feet froze, his whole body quivering as he glanced around at his teammates. Um...Maybe he would just guard the flag. That sounded good.

As the horn echoed across the forest, a smirk flashed onto Brant's face as a flame flickered out of his mouth. He rolled the handle of his blunted sword in his hand, his eyes scanning his team until he spotted the moonlit figure that was his girlfriend. He rolled his shoulders in an relaxed motion, a smile of relief appearing on his face. He was overjoyed to the Summer and Spring houses working together - simply because it didn't mean that he had to be against Destiny. As his team prepared to attack, he weaved his way over to Destiny with a smile. "So, whats the plan?" he asked once he reached her, using the pommel of his sword to fix his shield's placement on his arm.

This was silly. Luke titled his head slightly as the horn to start split the air, pulling on his gloves to make sure they were on correctly before picking up the staff he had claimed as his weapon. This was a dangerous game - pitting two teams of kids with supernatural powers against each other...But he couldn't help but admit that it had its charm - it was what brought him to sign up. A way to see what other kids could do with theirs could maybe prove helpful with his own. After all, if he wanted to know how to control his gift, he had to know how to control the ones he copied and what better place was there to see that then the battlefield? His eyes flickered to his teammates, wondering if they were going to attack or defend - he figured he would pick whatever side had the least going for it.

Magic sat at the his base for the Autumns, and Winters. He would love to go on the aggressive, but he felt it was better for him to be a on the defensive side of this fight. He could easily hear someone coming if they were trying to get to their flag, and his gift was pretty powerful, and a bit dangerous to use around a lot of team-mates. So if he was having to defend someone running back with the flag, he might hinder more than help. Though this whole thing brought back memories for the winter prefect, it surely felt like a battle over territory back in Chicago, but it was merely for fun. The blare of a horn cause the winter prefect to jump in his spot tearing him out of his memories. Well time for the game to begin.

Destiny stood at the Spring, and Summer base, her scythe resting in her arms. Juan, her skeleton, by her side, probably freaking a few of the newer students out. Destiny understood that another girl was already setting up traps, so she should move forward and create a defensive point. She was about to leave when her boyfriend caught her attention. "Well the plan for me is to move forward and create a defensive point with an undead army." She said moving her scythe off her arm, and pointed the tip of it towards the ground. "Come on." She sad before moving further into the forest. When she got to a decent spot she stopped took a deep breathe, and let undead creatures join her, and Juan at their point. Hopefully Brant would stay by her side.

Mitchel was excited. Even though he was new to the school, still an initiate, he could participate in something like this. Granted he was pretty decent with his gift. Moving, and manipulating strings was easy, but he knew there was only so much he could do. But still there was a lot he could do with his strings with setting up traps. The boy moved forward ahead of the barrier, and started to work on setting up traps, hopefully he could do a decent job.

Danni was essentially freaking out. All he could do was mess up people's vision and randomly swing any sort of weapon.

There was that horn. So it'd started. Kayla sat up from a boulder on the outer fringe of the hollow and stretched out her arms, electricity flickering in the dark. "Are you just gonna sit there?" she said, with a wolfish grin that flashed like a knife in the dim glow of the lanterns. "C'mon, let's go."

Sitting around strategizing wasn't her kind of role. Without a word, she stepped out of the clearing and walked into the forest, electricity lighting up the path in front of her.

OOC: If any of you are confused, you can start moving toward the border creek at any time. Get ready for the throwdown. ;D

Adrenaline pumping through her veins, Maria followed some of her teammates towards the border creek. At this point, most of them were running until they finally reached the river. Everyone on offence looked really pumped and she understood why. Finally reaching the edge of the creek, she requiped her double, titanium battle axes. Seeing someone try to cross the border (Harrison) from the trees, she threw an ax into the air. It just barely missed him, but was enough to get the guy's attention.
~~~
This was it, the moment they'd all been waiting for. Seeing everyone starting to scramble around, she transformed into her dragon form. The 45ft tall, white dragon gave a long, deafening roar, warning incoming students: she's a force to be reckoned with.
Harrison saw the ax coming and had enough time to jump backwards and avoid getting knocked out the first few minutes of the game. Seeing as how there was just an ax thrown at him he had gone down towards the person who had threw the ax. "Hey you're that girl that stopped me in the fight with..." He never actually got the name of the person he fought in the forest so he couldn't finish. Taking the two circle belt buckles off and expanding it he pulled out 12 dulled blades and had them on standby. 'How do I pass. Whats her power?'
=============================================
Sarai was intrigued and amazed although it was only a few minutes in with all the powers that had came into play. She stood by where the defenders were and checking once and in a while if anyone was close.
Keo bounced here and there around the blue team's base, putting up as many posters and drawings as she could.  Most of them would be easy to hide from enemy view- if they were on  tree, cover them with another drawing of tree print; if they were on the ground, cover them with ground print- but some of them would require specific placement and visibility based on the objects they'd bring forth.  All of her larger items, for example, had to be placed on various boulders around the site; when the time came, and an enemy student approached, those boulders would be absolutely crucial in bringing forth a proper defense system.
The girl giggled quietly, heart beating in excitement.  It had been a while since she'd had the opportunity to use her gift in an all- out battle.
Grey slunk through the trees in cat form, his night vision proving to be fairly useful as he jumped swiftly from shadow to shadow.  His hoodie had been left with Keo back at the base, but the pouch of darts tied around his neck and the blowpipe he carried in his mouth would provide him with ample protection as he advanced towards the front lines.
Alright, Grey, you know the drill- no fighting unless it's absolutely necessary. The cat reminded himself.  Your goal is the red flag, so don't get caught up in engaging all of the other students.
Alright, Capture the Flag. That was easy. Considering her powers, how could she lose? Ashleigh grinned to herself as she ran effortlessly towards the borderline, jumping over the occasional fallen branch as she went. This was going to be a piece of cake. Still, she had to remind herself that there were others with a variety of dangerous powers, so she forced herself to hide behind a tree in order to scope out the surroundings. Stealth was so boring though: it would be so much better go full ham on the whole game.
