Capture the Flag [site event] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Capture the Flag [site event]   Capture the Flag [site event] - Page 2 EmptyMon Mar 14, 2016 1:37 pm

School activities bored him - they all included inducing some sort of enjoyment or excitement or getting someone's adrenaline bursting through in doses until they overexhausted themselves, whether physically or mentally. He had no part in being here. None of that affected him, none of it was actually useful, and it was all a waste of time. Whatever devil plucked the strings keeping his fragile soul in tact and swaying it to sign up for this event was intolerable; using Nicola as an excuse wasn't viable, seeing that she didn't want to participate herself. So what the hell was he, of all people, doing here? That was a question he would've liked to have an answer to, only from his inability to figure it out himself.

A ghost did not feel nor did they care about who won or lost these trivial competitions. Hieta kept his hands jabbed in the pockets of his red sweater, his feet scarcely touching the rocks that he used as a trampoline to leap forward, crimson eyes concealed by eyelids that seemingly refused to open. It didn't matter if he ran into anything - he'd practically float right through it, as though it were nothing. Being invisible and unnoticeable by many meant being able to do stupid things and be as free as a bird could be. Maybe he was only motivated by negative feelings. That was what a demon was.

Heh, Destiny and Brant were working together. Of course. At least she seemed to be doing better sense that day on the rooftop. But that didn't really matter to him. He wasn't one to let the past hold onto him. You'd think he would appreciate life better after dying, but that's the complete opposite - he hated it more than ever.

Carefully, he landed a bit in front of the couple. "Destiny, keep me invisible for the duration of the game." It was an advantage. Might as well exploit it.

...

"Good luck."

"I'm heading to the boundary," he announced suddenly to anyone in his team within ear shot or who cared. Thaddeus thought he would be able to provide some cover to anyone who might need it - though truthfully he was hoping to avoid using his gift. But he also had his weapon, and while staying back at the blue team base may be the smartest idea defensively, it didn't seem like the most fun. Besides, wasn't it better to ask for forgiveness than permission anyway?

PostSubject: Re: Capture the Flag [site event]   Capture the Flag [site event] - Page 2 EmptyMon Mar 14, 2016 4:20 pm

Why was he here again? Right. To make friends. Farkas adjusted his smooth raincoat and glanced around at his supposed teammates. Although he was still an initiate, there was no bad time to start making friends. At least, that was what his mom told him. The boy trailed towards his team's flag. If he was going to do anything in this event, it would be defend, not attack. It wasn't in the poor boy to do so. He brushed down the green hairs that stuck out from under his hat to calm his nerves. A few large vines made their way around himself, ready to trip anyone that meant harm.

Elaine let out a small scoff. Of course they dulled the blades. Not that it mattered much in the end. There was enough sunlight for the initiate to coat the blade in it's bright glow. Anyone could feel the heat emanating off of the broadsword she held, and those who happened to stare directly at it would be blinded for a moment, as if they looked into the sun itself. The blonde gripped it tightly and skipped her way down to the creek, looking around for anyone to tussle with.

Marcel clicked his tongue violently as he looked over the area. Many of his teammates were already making their way to the border, ready to fight their way to the enemy flag. Unluckily for him, the initiate couldn't find anyone willing to share his mind with. Well this sucked. He leaned against his spear, blue eyes lazily taking in the scenery. There was no way he could charge in, with no backup and unsure if he could entrap someone with his power in time. If he could drag someone along to protect him, perhaps he could grab a few enemies to join his little collective.

The familiar blonde locks of his cousin caught his eye. He eased his way over, swinging the spear over his shoulder, nearly grazing a few of his teammates and earning groans in response. "Hello dear cousin. Would you mind giving me a few minutes of your precious time? I have quite the idea, but no one to help," he spoke, his tone condescending.

Standing beside Martin, Caleb couldn't have been more excited. How could capture the flag in a parched park at home compare to a game of capture the flag in a forest with monsters and other kids with gifts? Nothing, that's what. He was eager to get started. Martin's voice distracted him from looking around for something to do, and he saw that his friend seemed a little nervous.
"Wanna merge?" he asked, knowing it would ease his friend's mind a little.

Elisa watched as everyone ran off into the forest, eagerly working together to form some sort of plan for capturing the flag. She couldn't remember why she had signed up for this; her power wasn't suited for this kind of thing.

Martin quickly nodded his head. "Yes, please." he said, getting closer to the boy.

Matthew stayed back by the Winter/Autumn base, as he wasn't a good offensive person. He figured it was better anyway, since he wasn't a good runner either.

Bobbi began teleporting towards the river, getting closer with each teleport, running as she did so. Occasionally she'd have to stop to take a breath, but she was quickly making ground. She had brought with her a small staff to keep her defended, but she had no idea how to use it.

Mikaela wasn't sure what she should do, so she decided to stay back at the Summer/Spring base. She figured she'd be pretty good at keeping people back, even if her powers weren't nearly as strong as her brother's.

When the horn sounded, Erin got excited. She definitely wanted to play, but as she stood in her spot near the base, she suddenly had no idea what to do. Powers could be used as well as weapons, but her typical weapon choice was kind of useless out here. She still had her throwing knives strapped to the side of her leg ready for action, however. The problem was that she wasn't exactly offensive or defensive. Her power served neither purpose. The best she could figure to do was let a small group from the other team take their flag, she possess one of the escorts to find the opposing team's flag position before taking back her own flag.. or at least, making the flag carrier let go of it so it could fly back on its own. So instead of really doing anything, the autumn ran up to the creek that separated the two territories and waited, her eyes glancing towards Maria who was a distance off, already fighting the other team.

Preston felt free.

It was the first time in several weeks he was able to stand on his own, without a crutch or a cement brick weighing down his leg. Eagerly, he bounced around on his weight, gripping tightly onto his glaive. Since there was absolutely no way he was going to miss something like this, he'd convinced the school nurses to rush order his recovery. To be specific, he'd cornered the healer of the infirmary to give him some last minute therapy sessions.

"Don't do anything stupid, your condition is still-"

"Yeah, yeah - Don't get hit. Thanks for the reminder!"

From his spot several feet back, Ethan's face turned indignant, yet before he had the chance to say a word back the game had already begun. Pres began to rush off deep into the forest, along with a large wave of other students.

He held back a groan. "It's going to be a long night."

Clear across the forest, standing amongst the crowd of Spring and Summers, stood a few more eager faces.

Brailynn was staring intently into the deep woods, just waiting for the moment she could spring off into action. There was absolutely no way she could sit idly by while they waited for the others to show up. To her, there was absolutely no way they could lose. The Autumn's and Winter's had a lot of strong students, but their fight would be chaotic. They couldn't work together. That would make them easy to blindside.

She held her breath in the moments leading up to the start of the game. As soon as the alarm sounded, she sprang forward, leaping and breaking off into a sprint. The blond wouldn't accept any loss of theirs.

With slightly less enthusiasm, Liam stood with his hands in his pockets, looking towards the others amongst them and trying to place where his talents lie best. The ghostly-pale girl he had heard was a strong fighter, and there were a few others clinging to the flag.

Once the madness had begun, he'd quickly decided to follow after the crowd headed towards the the opposing flag... In a slow manner. In fact, he was walking. Perhaps he hadn't completely made up his mind then yet, or maybe he saw no need in rushing. Or maybe he was lazy.

D'angelo awaited the sound of the horn, a metal baseball bat In hand. He felt that's all he really needed seeing as how the weapons were dulled anyway. Not like he wanted to whack anyone with the bat, it was more for defending against other powers and/or weapons. Once the horn sounded, he quickly made his way to the borderline. Following behind some of his teammates until he recognized his dormmate, Juliette. "Yo, mind if I join you? he said toward her.

Finally reaching the creek that served as the dividing line between territories, Grey peered out from the safety of the trees to where two fighters were currently dueling.  It was an intense battle; even with the blunted weapons that the school had insisted on using, this was by far the most dangerous fight Grey had ever witnessed.  He recognized the girl from when he'd seen her back at the base, but the boy was a mystery- most likely he was part of the enemy team.  Both were incredibly skilled in their crafts, that much was for sure; though Grey was reluctant to admit it, either one of them could easily have taken him out within the span of a couple of minutes.

Suddenly, a sprig of pink hair poking out from behind a nearby tree caught Grey's attention.  The boy seemed to be attempting to hide, much like Grey was doing now, though his brightly colored hair was making that far more difficult than it should have been.  If Grey had been in human form, he would have chuckled.

What team is he on? The cat wondered, slowly making his way to a lower branch for a closer look.  Keo had mentioned the different teams were sporting arm bands to help differentiate who was who, but to Grey, all of the bands looked pretty much exactly the same.

After a brief moment, Grey shrugged.  It didn’t really matter, but if he squinted the other teen's arm band looked slightly lighter than his own; he guessed that meant Pinkie was a proud supporter of the enemy team.  Momentarily shifting into human form, the teen quickly shot a green dart into the other boy’s arm.

Nausea and vomiting,Grey rehearsed in his head.  Unlike the supposed ‘magical properties’ of his blowpipe, the properties of his darts were tried and true; undoubtedly the hiding pink- haired teen would soon be far too incapacitated to assist in anything.

The ax disappeared into thin air, soon returning back to Maria's hand. Observing Harrison, she could tell he was hesitating. This'll be easy. Swinging the axes in circling motions so they sliced the air, she watched him pull out his blades. Certainly an interesting choice of weapons, and even though they were blunted, getting hit would still hurt like hell. "Looks like we've got an audience." She'd noticed several preening eyes and looked back to Harrison. Sorry, getting to long, you're gonna have to take the first shot.
~~~
After her roar, Pepper stayed silent, listening to everything. She could here teammates talking, although is they were nothing more than mumbles. She listened to the fights starting to break out, and the monsters that lurked in the shadows of the forest. The white dragon could smell the stench of anticipation and anger in the air, and looked over some trees, seeing a couple start to spar.
'So that disappears tsck, cant be that easy can it?.' Harrison was being rational, the goal is the flag NOT to knock out people and so he is trying to figure out a way to fight her and get through. Although this was his thinking it changed after hearing what she had to say. "Well then. Why don't we give them a performance." Pulling back two of his blades he sent the 10 blades towards her but the blades were behind each other although some were lower or higher than others. 'You don't have much speed carrying those do you? Try and parry all of these.' Harrison had moved his body so that it faced the river and that he could just run away if the people watching on her side comes to intervene.
Kayla sped into a run as her teammates rushed past her, electricity flaring down her body. Sneaking around wasn't an option for her. It wasn't just that her power made her light up like a Christmas tree wherever she went, but the idea of crawling around in the dark to try and avoid a fight made her sick to her stomach. So she had to do things the only way she knew how.
She burst out of the treeline, bounding forward, and landed with a small splash into the shallows. Water went lapping up at her ankles, and electricity went shooting down both directions of the stream, rippling along the surface.
He reached the river but didn't cross it. He thought he would now switch to defensive and stand just on the winter/Autumn side. "Oi!" he called loudly, hoping to draw the attention of anyone nearby. "Are you Springs and Summers too scared to show your faces? C'mon! Come and get some!" The Irishman though he would be able to create a distraction or a diversion that might allow other members of his team to cross unimpeded.
Several sharp bullets of pain worked their way through Grey's body as the pink boy's arrows met their mark.  For the most part, the wounds were harmless enough- bolts with rubber tips would never do much more than leave a couple bruises- but what came after was unexpected.
It wasn't as if Grey had never experienced an inability to use his power, before; he'd just never had such an effect occur because of somebody else.  Instinctively, the cat knew he should be able to transition at least twenty-three more times before he reached his daily limit- realistically, he realized he'd probably be trapped, exposed and vulnerable, in human form until his dart took effect on the boy with the pink hair.
It was only a couple minutes into the game of Capture the Flag, but Keo could already tell that her previous plan of staying solely on defense was going to be a drag.  From what the Blue Team's various scouters had relayed, no student had even managed to cross the border- it could be several hours yet before their base saw any action.
Sighing, her heart beating rapidly in her chest, Keo donned her favorite pair of roller blades, complete with treads she'd created from a drawing and part of a tree.  A small utility belt about her waist held some of her favorite combat works; in her hand she held a small blunted dagger she'd snagged from the pile of weapons before entering the forest.  Was she ready to fight?  No.  Was she staying here, where it was safe?  Of course not.  That would be too easy, wouldn't it?
As Destiny moved forward to create her roadblock, Brant cheerily followed after her. He leaned his sword on his shoulder as he strolled after her. He wondered how the other team would react to the undead army they would be facing, only wishing he could do more in helping Destiny as she reached the point and started to summon her legion. He leaned on a tree, watching her while also letting his gaze slip away to keep an eye out on any approaching enemies. Then Hieta spoke up. He jumped at first, before recognizing the voice from that trip to Alaska and that day on the rooftop. He opened his mouth, ready to say hi to the ghostly student - wherever he was - but stopped himself. He...Supposed trying to make small talk wasn't the best idea in the heat of battle. Of course, everything was at a lull so far. Either way, he held his tongue and continued keeping an eye open.
OhGodwhatwasthatnoise. Devin flinched as a roar echoed faintly in the wind - coming from the other base as he gripped his hold on his weapon even more. Only to loosen it when it started to hurt from how tight his grip was. His tail flickered in uneasy as his green eyes scanned the forest, only catching faint movements of his teammates as they moved out in the middle field. His wings opened and closed in a nervous gesture, before he forced himself to take a deep breath. He had to focus. He couldn't be panicking, panicking would be bad. He was going to defend...And hopefully not turn into a demon. He had to keep his power under control - he wasn't really sure if he would be able to keep himself from deciding that anybody was free game if he did. Being a rouge element seemed like an even worse idea then panicking. So, he keep taking deep breaths as he stood there, his scythe at the ready.
Luke watched as his team rushed forward to meet the enemies, sighing softly as he scanned who was left to defend. He was rather surprised to see a good number still there. However, one of the defenders caught his attention. Magic had decided to partake? He was a bit relieved - at least somebody he knew was here. He glanced around a bit at everyone else before he stuffed his free, gloved hand into one of his pockets and made his way toward Magic. Coming to a stop near the prefect, he cleared his throat as he glanced back at the forest. "How are things sounding out there?" he asked, keeping his voice cool and leveled.
