Sand is everywhere (open)

A boy with with red hair and hazel eyes and porcelain skin walked into the school, two large suitcases and a duffel bag as the boy walked up to the gates from the taxi. He looked down at his attire a black cloak with a collar that stopped at his mouth and sleeves that stopped just passed his elbows and a headband with a weird symbol and simple black shoes. He sighed and looked around through half lidded eyes in boredom and his eyes landed on a pair. It was his.. cousin. The one we was to be in an arranged marriage with by order of their grandparents. He frowned and then cleared his face of emotion before turning and walking in a different direction.

Kuno was talking with Luke at the front of the school when she noticed the new arrival. Her eyes widened and she quickly fixed her dress. "Sasori! Sasori! Wait up!" She called to her cousin but he just ignored her and kept walking. She stoped calling and then she and Luke left. She looked back with a sad expression on her face.

If there was one thing Sam was, it was breath-taken by this whole academy. They had never seen anything like it before and even thought days had past since their arrival, walking around the courtyard was still such an amazing feeling. Sam wasn't very aware of where they were heading, just letting their feet walk until they heard a voice. They blinked, flickering to glance at somebody calling for another boy who looked who had just arrived but was ignored. Sam frowned sharply at that, taking in a deep breath.

Well they weren't going to stand for such rude behavior while they were around. They turned sharply, a sly smile flickering on their face as they moved to cut off the -if they were honest - strangely dressed boy. "Hello there," they hummed as they came to a stop a few steps away from him, their hands folded behind their back as they bounced on their heels. There was a light that flickered in their eyes, always willing to try to take on a challenge when it came to making new friends.

Sasori stopped walking as something bounced in front of his path. He looked down at the boy. "Can I help you?" His voice was deep but not too deep, it was more in the middle between deep and high pitched a perfect blend of both. The boy stood at 6 feet tall with half lidded eyes gazing down at the boy in front of him with boredom and a hint of annoyance, but held an intense light and somewhat of anger. Anger at what? Who knows the boy didn't know himself.

Sam held a small smile on their face as they stared up at the boy, doing their best to ignore the bored tone in his voice. "I think the question is if I can help you," they said with a playful tone in their voice, their green eyes bright and amusement. They rocked back and forth on the heel of their feet, eyeing the taller boy up and down as if measuring what to say. "You look new here and the campus is rather big. I'm willing to take you on a tour and I fear I'm not willing to take no as an answer."

Sasori cocked a red brow. "Persistence is annoying. How old are you anyways? 12?" He said annoyance laced in his voice, but his face still stayed emotionless. Unaware that his sand was wrapping itself tightly around the boys ankle and making a spike into the ground the sand only getting tighter by the second. He glared down at the boy and started to walk away ignoring his attempts at friendship. He walked a few steps before something stopped him and he stood still contemplating something. Sasori shook his head and continued walking.

Sam's smile faded slightly at the sharp comment, turning into a frown as the student walked walked past them. "I'm 17 thank you very much!" they retorted as they started to turn, only to be force to stop as they realized that something had tighten around their ankle. With wide eyes, they glanced down to see a bracelet of sand around their ankle, starting to dig into their leg. "Well that isn't very nice," they muttered as they attempted to shake the sand off. Maybe if they just...No, using their power would be stupid. If anything they would just break their ankle trying to flash step. "...If you are just going to walk away, could you at least release my foot?" they called over their shoulder, hoping the boy would be at least kind enough to do this. Besides...Using their powers against other students was against the rules and they certain didn't want to get them in trouble.

Sasori turned around his brows raised in surprise. His gaze quickly hardened and the sand dropped from around the boys ankle and he muttered a sorry. Sasori spun on his heel and started to walk towards the front steps. His brow twitched in annoyance at his own carelessness and he tightened his grip on his suitcases and gritted his teeth in anger and disgust at himself. He sighed and started up the steps.

Relief flooded over Sam as the pressure around their ankle disappeared as the sand lost its form. But then their eyes flickered up to the boy that was stalking away from them. Oh no, he wasn't getting away from them that easily. For a second, Sam was once again tempted to use their gift to cross the distance but pushed it away with a quick thought. No, no, that was a terrible idea. Luck was never on their side when it came to it and Sam was certain that they would accidentally go the wrong way if they didn't end up crashing straight into the boy.

But lucky, even without taking their gift into account, speed was still one of Sam's strong suits - having the right build for it. "Don't think you can just walk away from me!" Sam shouted as they darted down the pathway, quick to reach the older boy's side as they flashed a grin up at them. "Like I said, I'm not willing to take no as an answer - if anything it will just be easier if you just allow me to be your guide for now," they pointed out in a tone. Part of Sam wanted to loop their arm around his just to prove their point but held back as kept the smile on their face. "We also might as well be polite while we are at it. My name is Sam, what's yours?"

Sasori's eye twitched and his grip on his suitcase handles tightened. His sand flew around his feet and then he forced himself to calm down. "Ok I guess.. But make it quick!" He said in a monotone voice and annoyance clearly on his face.

"That didn't answer my question," Sam hummed as they flashed the older boy another playful grin. They weren't certain if they had ever met somebody as rude as this before but they didn't like to judge. I mean, they hated to be judge and...Well, it was why they were often quiet about the whole 'Non-Binary' thing. It often got them weird looks and it was hard to explain why they just didn't feel that they were male or female...Judging was wrong, it only made people feel worst when they were judge so they kept this mind open. People were rather surprising after all - and who knew why he was so closed off? He most likely had a good reason but...Well, that made Sam rude to be butting in like this but they were only planning to linger around for this. If the student wanted them gone after this, then they would respect that. But they might as well try to reach out - kindness was a strange magic on its own. "What is your name?" they repeated, a simple reminder of the question that the boy had failed to answer.

"Sasori." Sasori replied in a clipped tone. He sighed as they walked up the steps. He supposed he should make conversation with the boy so he turned to him. "So.. What is you view on art?" He said turning to the younger boy.

Sasori. Sam blinked, a large smile of victory flashing across their face at the name. It was an interesting name to be certain - mostly compared to their own but that only raised Sam's interest in it. Where was Sasori from? Did everybody in his family have such curious names like that? But they held back that curiosity in fear of it being well...Rather straight forward and rude. And so Sam allowed their gaze to travel around the school ground. They were expecting to walk in silence and found themself jumping when Sasori's voice broke the silence. "Hm?" Their smile was replaced with a soft frown as they pondered on how...Out of left field that question had been and lingered on picking what words would be suitable for a response. "Oh I like all types of different art - not just painting or drawing...But all the types of arts. Writing, music, dancing..." they mused softly as they allowed their gaze to shift up to the sky, smiling softly. "Everybody is so...Special and so is the things that they create. I like to think that looking at somebody's art is a small glimmer of who they are and that every art should be celebrated for what it is." There was a soft pause. "And...What about you? What do you think of art?"

Sasori turned to look forward. "Art.. To me art is eternal. Ever inspiring others to create their own form of art and to leave behind something to teach each generation." He said with a small smile gracing his face. "Any.. Family..?" He said giving the boy a sideways glance.

Sam gave a happy bob of their head at his response, the smile on their face only growing brighter. Even if Sasori wasn't the nicest person in the world, at least Sam could respect his feeling on art. When the question however turned onto family, they gave a halfhearted shrug of their shoulders. "Oh, I got a bunch of family here at Beata. Second or third cousins mostly - we all share similar gifts involving speed but the bulk of them have a more...Powerful version then mine," they admitted, having no shame in stating that fact. Sure, their gift wasn't anything like the Super Speed that Barry and Ed had but it was their gift in its own special way. "I've met a few of them so far but I don't know them all that well...And you? Do you have any family here at Beata?"

Sasori nodded. "Yeah. I have a cousin. Her name is Kuno. I'm supposed to marry her.." He trailed off and sighed. He didn't love Kuno like that, although the was the only one who talked to her beside her mother. Sasori was sure Kuno had fallen in love with him so he had to ignore her. Ignore her and hoped she got over him.
