Good Grief [Open]

Once Brandon felt a tug at his sleep, the blond stopped moving and turned back to look at Adrian. Not minding the not sentence that just left his friends mouth. After all he was used to seeing his friend like this sometimes. Brown eyes looked at Adrian, watching him in silence for a moment trying to determine what his friend was trying to say. One day he was going to get better at this, and not really have to try an guess for a bit. What did sleep have to do with their conversation? Sleep.... where they would be sleeping..

Finally it hit him, it was kind of simple to think of but lack of words made it hard. Brandon turned back to the other two boys. "He is wondering if we will be staying together. Would either of you happen to know anything about it?" The blond asked the other two boys. They had been here for a while at least, surely they would know right?

Sasori looked back at the two boys. "In the Initiate Dorm." He replied stopping to face the two.

Carl gave what he hoped was a subtle twitch at Adrian's sudden attempt to contribute to the ongoing conversation and whatever he meant to say next died in confusion as he struggled to understand just what the other boy was asking. His head gave a slight confused tilt as he watched Adrian continue to act out the question- all he could really gather was sleep- but once Brandon finally spoke the question aloud, an understanding smile broke out across his face. "Yup, just in the Initiate Dorms for now, then after a few weeks you'll be moved after you take the placement test or whatever they call it." Carl finished, nodding in agreement with Sasori.

Adrian's frown switched into a beam as his friend picked up what he was trying to convey. Brandon was almost like a translator, and being separated from him would lead to a world of troubles. Then again, the smile dropped into a concerned look once Sasori answered--then what? What's after? Almost as if he was reading his mind, Carl elaborated. A...placement test? For what? Where would they be sorted? He hated not being able to verbally ask, it made learning both outside and inside the classroom so much more difficult. The best he could do is nod along to their explanation, hand some how still grasping onto Brandon's sleeve. He didn't really want to be forced to make friends away from him. Though! He would admit that both Sasori and Carl seemed like good people as they haven't called him out on his speaking quite yet.

A stray thought crossed his mind. It wondered if he should learn American Sign Language. The thought reasoned that it would be better than charades and vague noises. Why hadn't he done this sooner? Could he get Brandon to learn with him so he could interpret? Then again, it seemed like a lot of work--he was a teenager. Not so inclined to do work...

Placement test? Well now it was his own curiosity driving him to ask questions. "What is the placement test exactly?" If they could get some information on what it was maybe they would be prepared for it when it came around. And maybe he could do something to make sure they ended up together when it did happen. If that is what Adrian wanted. They would at least probably still have classes together, and still see each other around if they ended up in different places.

Brandon looked back to Adrian for just a second before looking back to Carl and Sasori. Hopefully they had the information on the thing, if not then Brandon would have to find someone else to talk to later.

Sasori thought for a moment. "The placement test determines what Dorm your in. I'm in the Winter Dorm." He said.

Once again, Carl found himself nodding along with Sasori's words, absently reaching up to fiddle with his bottom lip out of habit as he waited for the other boy to finish speaking so he could elaborate once more. "Just a lil test they administer once you've been enrolled for a while. It's just a bunch of fairly standard questions that are supposed to determine where you fit in best or something." He shrugged for emphasis on his lack of fruitful knowledge on the actual subject- he didn't even really know that the placement test existed until he was forced to take it. "Afterwards, based on whatever answers you put down, they'll put you in either Autumn House, Summer House, Winter House or Spring House." Carl continued, glancing over at Adrian and Brandon as he spoke

Adrian pursed his lips at their responses. That would mean there was a possibility that he and Brandon would not be in the same dorm. It felt like a no-go for him. He almost needed his friend. A deep connection that he was scared could sever if they couldn't be close. This realization startled Adrian. Just how hopeless would he be? When in doubt he would use a paper and pencil. However, that felt tedious, and he wondered if his dorm mates would bother to read it.

It didn't take long for them to reach the office. Just within the door was a kind lady who seemed to already know who they were. She offered them a bright smile paired with papers, uniforms and a key to their temporary dorms. Adrian didn't need to say a single word in the exchange. Back outside of the office, the boy glanced down at the key. They'd definitely need the boys' help getting there. Despite his hands being full, Adrian was just barely able to hand Sasori his key--hoping that he'd understand what he wanted him to do.

Sasori took the key and nodded. "Its this way." He said leading them to the initiate dorm. Ah he had spent his first few months here, sure his cousin found out where his dorm wa DNA she never got any peace but eh it was nice having some place to at least sleep that wasn't a thin mat and a pillow and blanket. Opening the door to their dorm with the key he set the key down on their coffee table and looked at the three. "Do you guys want some help settling in or would you rather do it yourself?" The redhead asked holding out his hands to Adrian, silently asking if he wanted help.

Brandon followed the Sasori over to their temporary dorm. Even if it seemed like an old timey place the dorm was pretty standard. It would fit the friends for now. Brandon looked at his friend for a moment then turn towards the other two. "I think we have the settling in part covered. Thanks for showing us around though." The blond said.

Carl remained fairly silent once they finally arrived at the Office, unsure of anything to add to the conversation, as he stood off to the side as the dull affair of filling out the necessary paperwork went underway. As they set off once more, he took the silence that hung over the little group as a cue to refrain from needlessly talking, so he instead resumed his fiddling with his bottom lip. Once they entered the small Initiate Dorm that was designated for Adrian and Brandon, he was hardly surprised to see how standard looking it was- it looked almost exactly the same as the one he had just recently moved out of. 

"It was no trouble, I'm sure we were both fine with helping you two out." Carl responded to Brandon's words with a nonchalant shrug and smile, eyes briefly flicking to Sasori for confirmation as he spoke. It sure would of been nice if someone had shown him around when he was new to the school. "If either of you need help finding any other buildings, you can probably find either of us." He added once more, using these final words as his own dismissal, before turning and striding out of the small little room. "See you guys around." Carl finally stated before proceeding to backtrack his way out of the dorm.
