A ghost has entered the school [open]

Olive's finger traced the dried raindrops on the car window, the sunlight making them all the more visible. Trees passed by quickly, the green, yellow, and blue colors vibrantly bouncing off each other. She tried to imagine humming and how it would feel, instead she looked at her dad and he returned her gaze with a quick response. "Music?" his fingers already on the volume nob turning it clockwise. Her pale hands raised and she signed to her dad. It's very bright here. He turned his eyes away from her hands and focused on the road ahead, "It is quite different than what we're used to, isn't it kiddo?" She gave a small nod and returned to her original position, the gates of her new school quickly coming into view.

The car came to a soft stop as she jumped out, pulling a suitcase from behind her. Her dad came around the car giving her a prompt hug, placing his hand on her shoulder, "If you ever need anything just give your mom or I a text, okay? I want you to be safe." She gave her dad a nervous smile and turned from him, approaching the gates of the school. Olive turned right before entering and gave a small wave as the car pulled away, driving back into the fields of sunlight. The quiet girl continued the journey, entering the campus and getting the whole view of what the school had to offer, she stood in place taking it all in until a new voice flooded her ears. Olive jumped from startlement her power flickering on making her transparent, then flickering off as she took a deep breath and looked for the voice.

Barry sighed as he had been forced to go outside again. His brother made sure that he still got out of his dorm every now and again. Not that it helped anything. He still looked awful. His hair was almost to the back of his neck and there were dark circles underneath his eyes. He was also painfully thin, something that he hadn't recovered from in months, not since Egypt. Then everything just started piling onto the boy.

He was walking towards the entrance when he noticed that another student was arriving. Something he had hoped to avoid. He could always run, but that exhausted him anymore, even the shortest distances winded him. He brushed back his hair to look semi-presentable and walked forward towards the new arrival. Hopefully she wouldn't question why he looked so awful. He didn't feel like being questioned at the moment. "Welcome to Beata," he said, leaning against a tree. He was slightly surprised to see her flicker in and out of visibility. At least it was obvious what her power was.

Olive faded back to a materialized image and looked at the boy with a started expression, she gave a small nod as a thank you, standing back up and gripping the handle of her suitcase. Her nervousness made her restless as her other hand held onto the side of her shirt not knowing of how to ask for help. Back at home everyone knew she was silent and she had ways to dealing with them. Here it was new, here no one knew of her nor as far as she knew no one cared. Olives free hand fumbled for her phone grabbing hold of the glass box and typing onto the screen.

Before hitting send her eyes peered back up at the boy, he had dark brown hair that seemed to be too long for his liking there was also a very slouched look he presented not really giving the most welcome of feelings. The girl stood there studying the boy, her surroundings fading out until she made eye contact with the green eyes of the student. A new wave of nervousness flooded her body as she forced her eyes down to the bright screen hitting send and looking back up, awaiting an answer but avoiding his look. "What is next?" The robotic voice of her phone made her cringe, wondering again what her own voice would sound like.

Despite the fact that running exhausted him, he needed to at least appear helpful. "Hold on a second," he said. "Maybe two." He gave the girl the smallest glimpse at a smirk as he sped off to the library, grabbing a book on sign language. He came back, stopping near the girl. A burst of wind followed shortly behind, causing both people's hair to blow all over the place. Breathing heavily, Barry showed the girl the book. He opened it and in an instant he had read it. The Autumn tossed the book aside, planning on taking it back eventually, and blinked at the sudden rush of information.

"Alright I've got about an hour with this so feel free to sign away. You don't have to use that jarring voice for now," he told her. "But the next step would be to lead you to the office for you to get all the information you need. Do you need me to show you where it is?"

Olive raised her eyebrow towards the boy curious as to what he meant by just a moment. Then unexpectantly he vanished, for a moment she thought they shared the power of invisibility, it wasn't until she saw his streak cross the courtyard did she realize he had super speed. Her mouth gaped open as she saw the streak come to a sudden stop in front of her, the wind following him blowing her hair behind her shoulders to become a big mess.

Her eyes tried to follow the pages of the book as he flipped through it, she looked back up at him sharing his blink. Olive tilted her head down, a smile forming as she tucked her loose hair behind her ear. Thank you. You're...fast. Olive peered around the campus, all the of massive buildings hovering very intimidatingly towards the new student. Her gaze returned the speedster the smile returning to her face. Could you please? She signed, trying to be as polite as possible.

"Follow me," he said, starting to walk forward at a slow pace. "I forgot to introduce myself. My name's Barry," he said, trying to be polite. He still had manners after all. He stuck his hands in his pocket as they walked along. He made sure to keep looking at her to keep track of what she would sign back.
