It was a pony out of hell. Poppy waltzed into the small barn expecting it to be like a Disney movie, one half-baked impulse to try and take a horse out for a ride. After all, how hard could it be? She'd seen Spirit.

Rex, as his sign read, reared back. She dipped her head away from a flying hoof, and threw herself into the straw as Rex went bounding out into the open field, breaking away from his confines. "Oh, heck!" she hissed, out loud this time.
