Just in Time~ Empty
PostSubject: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptyThu Jan 23, 2014 10:34 pm

A new student, or two. Maybe. People could never tell whether it's one person or two, because of the fact that the other student, a girl that looked really under-aged for the school was always hiding behind the other. Sure, okay, maybe someone would notice a black parasol with pink frills, but sure, a guy could be holding it for all anyone knew. Standing at the gates was Lamia Takanashi Tempo, with her older twin brother Kearn Siega Tempo. She had just arrived with him, and was quite curious about what was to happen. However, being the shy innocent girl she was, Lamia just tilted her head in question, asking, "What'll be happening here?" The raven-haired girl appeared to have such a sweet image and seemed to be cute, yet maybe with that mature part that nobody usually noticed. It wasn't part of her nature to stick up for herself - that's what her brother was for. She wasn't the super intelligent kind, she was intelligent enough, but too naïve and too frail for anything. Her right eye's patch was quite the mystery and if a person listened very carefully, a very soft and muffled ticking sound could be heard somewhere.

Just in Time~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptyThu Jan 23, 2014 10:50 pm

Kearn was much different from his twin sister. Yes. You heard me. Twin. When most people hear the word 'twin' they think identical twins most of the time. No, they were not dressed in the same outfit when they were younger. No, he does not have a telepathic communication with his minute younger sister. And NO. Identical twins are not more special than fraternal twins. If anything, fraternal twins were much better.

The teen stood tall with a thick winter jacket, and large backpack slung over his right shoulder. Kearn slipped on his trademark black gloves before answering his sister. "Well...this is our new school." A small smile graced his face as he took a few steps forward. A fresh start! This is just what he'd needed. This place was beautiful, he wouldn't mind staying here for a little. Who knows what he'd learn?

Kearn looked back at his sister, before giving her a reassuring smile."Come on, I think we need to go to the front office to let them know that we're here."

Just in Time~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptyFri Jan 24, 2014 12:20 am

Glancing around from here to there to make sure no one was looking or noticing them, Lamia kept close to Kearn, her parasol shut closed and clutched in one hand. The other hand held her older brother's jacket as it seemed for her to be tugging it and only about half of her face could be seen, the side with the eyepatch. She wasn't exactly reasurred by his smile and more optimistic attitude - it worried her even more. Even if he was her brother, the immature-appearing girl wasn't exactly one who was willing to trust anyone. Trust was basically what had caused her to kill so many by accident; trust was a horrible thing to her. Call her cynical if you'd like, Lamia wouldn't care.

She didn't have any intentions to make friends - most of them in her childhood had bullied her in the end, while concluding to the fact that the rough treatment had made her lifeclock go out of control, ending all of their lives. Punished ever so often for that, the only school she could probably attend with good treatment would be Beata. Hopefully, but even then, that taunting past kept lingering and wouldn't go away.

Slightly perking up when Lamia heard that they would be going to the front office, she peeked out slightly from where she was hiding before quietly responding, "We...don't know... Where it is... Can we just head there without asking... Anyone to lead us?..." Her voice continuosly falterd as she spoke, it'd be noted that she could be near-mute. She only responds to very few people and only when addressed by. One of them was obviously her brother.

Now, while she wanted to get to the office as soon as possible, the girl wasn't one who liked to have others leading them around. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate it - the innocent time thief never really felt comfortable around others. There wasn't anything she could do and her powers can go out of control because of just one person approaching. It made her too nervous and Lamia was always embarassed by such a thing. Though, most of all, some sort of event like that might cause deaths in the end.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.

The soft and muffled sound of a clock, ticking at every second, slowly and slowly depleting.

OOC;; Short idea was that in Lamia's childhood, she had attempted to make friends. Because she was so shy and such and can be hurt easily - both emotionally and physically - she was bullied... Often. Even by her own "friends". In the end, it hurt her so much that when they approached, she had sucked all of their years away, stealing it by accident. That's why she doesn't feel comfortable around other people and why she doesn't trust anyone because everyone she trusted betrayed her, leading to their own demise by her hands. ;v; Well, besides Kearn.

Just in Time~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptyFri Jan 24, 2014 6:47 pm

Unfortunately, there was a wonderful teenage girl who just happened to be passing by at the entrance. It was a beautiful place that Lindsey just loved to hang around, and as she was sitting close to a fountain that was placed in the front of the entrance, she glanced up to see two strange faces she had never seen before. At first, she was a little reluctant to try to talk to them. It didn't seem to work well with other people who had already been at the school a while, but who knew? Maybe they would end up being her best friends or something. And with the way that they entered, it looked like they were siblings of some sort. That was always awesome. Lindsey kind of wished that she had a sibling or relative that went to Beata. Maybe then she would have someone to talk to and be comfortable around, but she had to live and learn.

Finally taking a deep breath, she stood up and carefully walked over to the twins, a small smile on her face as she waved at them. "Hello!" she said, probably a little too cheerfully. "I'm guessing you guys are new here? Sorry if you guys have actually been here for a while. Somehow I still don't really know all of the faces of Beata yet."

Just in Time~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptyFri Jan 24, 2014 8:30 pm

Seeing that his sister wasn't reassured, Kearn sighed and opened his mouth to say something. However, before any words escaped his mouth, another person spoke. He blinked in surprise, then spun on his heels to face the newcomer. Mouth still open, he stammered "Uhhhhh." Kearn laughed and scratched the back of his head with his only free hand. "Yeah, my sister Lamia and I just arrived."

He would shake her hand or something. But that seems like it would be an awkward motion. (Not to mention that he might shave five years off of her life span.) His laugh switched to an awkward grimace. He had officially screwed up,'What was with that 'uhhh'? You idiot! You met the first person in this school, and messed up.' Perhaps what made it worse to him, was that it was a girl. 'Who knows, she might go tell her friends about how much of a dunce I am. Not great for making friends.'

Kearn had always attempted to not make friends. He was quiet, and never spoke out during class. Essentially, he was a wall flower. Learning from his sister's mistakes, before he made them himself. 'I came here to learn how to control my powers so I don't kill any of my to-be friends...'

Just in Time~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptyFri Jan 24, 2014 9:18 pm

Realizing that someone did happen to appear the moment she was most anxious, Lamia hid back even further, not even attempting to give this person a greeting. It didn't help at all that the moment they arrive, one of the veteran students happen to come over and talk to them. She had been quite the pessimistic person all of her life - even before the mistakes she made. She didn't want to be a social person, not at all. Despite her innocent appearance and sweet aura, inside, she had some of the darkest and gloomiest thoughts of any person.

Lamia had also noted that there was no way that they could make any actual friendly gestures because most of them required touch, which limited Kearn, and well... Touch her, you might get a blast of blue magic in your face. Most people even said she looked way too young for her age - like a sixth grader many have said. Another reason why she was bullied a lot, but even then, she couldn't really resist it. She hated being a target for pain; she personally hated life and her power didn't exactly help that. She stole more time from other beings and was a parasite to them; she had no power to give time back. All she could do was take for her well-being.

Feeling weak at her knees and with the thought of wanting to collapse right there from how nervous she had become, it was like she was ready to faint. It could also be the possibility of her being low on time and she had most likely used most of it up on the trip to Beata. They didn't exactly live close by to the academy after all. For all anyone could know, they could've walked all the way to the school without transportation. Her breath was very faint, scarcely like a whisper, and a loud ticking could be heard, about twice as loud as before.

"U-uhmm... Kearn...? I don't feel so... Good..." the frail and fragile voice of the girl being heard. She had gotten deathly pale and her visible eye was hollow with signs of hell and beyond. Actually, she didn't look any older, it was rumored before that it was a possibility that death had tried to sneak up on her at a young age, what, 5, and claim her, but her power had protected her. It wasn't true though, she only aged as the years passed - her powers didn't affect her appearance. Well, she could make herself appear younger, but no, her gifts did not make her look like an elementary school student. She was born that way. The longer the wait went, the louder her lifeclock ticked, and when it sounds the alarm, her life could end.

No, se's not dying right now. She was just really weak from being shy and depleted a bit of her time because she used it as energy. Lamia gave a slight delicate smile, but with a strange look, it was twisted in an awkward way, probably as a side effect from her powers. She felt as if she needed to take something's time away - certainly not another student. The girl knew of an apple she had in her bag, but even then, was to weak to even take it out.

OOC;; Wtf did I just write?

PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptyFri Jan 24, 2014 10:13 pm

"Oh, okay! That's awesome!" she exclaimed as her smile quickly grew into a huge, goofy grin before she realized just how stupid she probably looked. Immediately controlling herself again, she took a deep breath before hearing the small words of the girl almost passing out behind her brother. Almost instantly Lindsey paused and looked at the girl with worry crossing her face. "Are you okay? Umm..." she tried to think of something as she looked left and right and all around hoping that something would give her an idea before she remembered the infirmary. It might not be too much help considering everything had happened as of late and with the nurse helping out the headmaster and her own husband, maybe the infirmary wasn't a terrific idea, but it was better than nothing. Besides, it was just a suggestion. "Uh, I can.. Um, there's an infirmary not too far from here. I'm sure that the nurses could help you out. I can't really do much by myself, but I know that they'll know what to do."

Just in Time~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptySat Jan 25, 2014 3:55 pm

Kearn was immediately worried, had Lamia used her powers? If that was so...his heart skipped a beat. Without hesitating, he spun around, catching his sister before she had a chance to fall. He quickly rested her on the hard ground. Inhaling, he slipped off his left glove, and rolled up the sleeve belonging to that hand. His time was bright like a digital clock, so it made no sound as the milliseconds dissipated.

The brother had been saving up time in case something like this happened. As it was, if he didn't die, get sick, or take a part of someone or something's time, he would live to 134 years old. That's because he'd saved up, and he was more frugal with his time. His sister however...The new student rested his hand on his sister, then willed his time into his sister haphazardly. His blue eyes were glued to his time, gone was 19 years of his life. Leaving 125 years, 4 months, 2 days, 7 hours, and 5 minutes.

Just in Time~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptySat Jan 25, 2014 5:04 pm

"T-thanks..." Lamia whispered before the color started to return to her. At the moment, she wasn't one who couldn't save up like her brother. Again, they were basically the complete opposites. It often came out that she must, really, must use her powers as energy due to how weak she was. Basically why she had to depend on others. However, it was bad that they had caused some sort of scene like that. When she arrived at the school, she had hoped that there wouldn't ever be a point where they had to use their powers in front of someone - but that was a different case. Impossible because eventually, there was gift mastery classes. However, the younger twin had hoped that it would be done then, not now. The sound of her clock went by, though she never showed signs of where it was.

Standing up from where she was and sweeping her hands across her skirt to clean it off a bit and have it flare out a bit more, Lamia hung her head low, bowing, before muttering, "Sorry Kearn..." Taking the apple out of her bag, she took a few bites out of it, pleased by the red fruit's taste. Afterwards, using a bit of her power, unlike how it would fully charge if used against something like a human or animal, a small ball of magic floated from her hand, a glyph right underneath it. It glowed a iight sky blue and she extend it into a sharp blade before pushing it into the apple. immediately, it grew rotten. At the moment, the time she had left, contradicting her brother, was only about 34 years, 6 months, 21 days, 13 hours, and 1 minute. Eventually, she'd need more again, but it should be fine for now.

"Uhmm... I-i'm... Lamia. Nice to meet... you," the aphasic inexperienced student quietly whispered, barely heard like a breath. She hadn't spoken those words in so long, but even now, who could she trust? Sure, she trusted her brother, a lot, but not always his judgement. She had grown up always depending on him whenever she needed, but that left no room for him to usually have time for himself. Deep in her mind, she felt like a burden. On another note, however, she knew that this other girl saw what happened first hand, but that just completely sabotaged any chances of being accepted at the school. She'd basically ruined it. Really, who would want to be friends with students who happened to have the ability to end their life in a split second?

That was just a horrible thought. The moment she finished introducing herself, Lamia went ahead and opened her parasol once again, usng it to block any views Lindsey had on her. Perhaps, they could be friends, but... What were the odds of that? She was always a creep and psycho, people saying she was mental and whenever they had the chance, blamed her for any accidents. It didn't work for her to have friends or anyone around her - besides Kearn - it just wouldn't. They were lucky enough that her shy nature and random optimistic person appearing didn't set off her powers and cause some sort of major time robbery.

Just in Time~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptySat Jan 25, 2014 8:30 pm

At first, Lindsey was pretty shocked to see what had just happened in front of her. The strangest part was really the whole apple thing, but at the same time it was fairly awesome. All sorts of different powers popped into her head as she tried to figure out what they could do, but she didn't just want to ask them up front. That was a little rude. Looking at both of the curiously, she was getting pretty excited, and almost felt bad as soon as Lamia hid herself away from sight. "I'm sorry if this is strange to say, but that was kind of awesome." she told both of them. Kearn kind of looked like he could heal, which was always fantastic, but Lamia's was a little more interesting. Lindsey honestly couldn't tell what kind of power that she had, but the first thing that popped into her head was some affinity for plants. That was always cool too. There were a couple of students who already had that kind of thing, and it was always amazing to watch.

PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptySun Jan 26, 2014 9:42 pm

Well, it was for certain that Lindsey didn't know exactly what their power was, and more importantly... with dangers surrounding it. He liked this Lindsey girl, she didn't freak out. Which is a much batter improvement then the outside world. That place didn't tolerate people like Kean and Lamia. Freaks, Weridos, Monsters.

Kearn glanced back at his sister. "Remember to save your time better. I won't be there every day to back you up when you use it all up." They really had dodged a bullet. If Kearn hadn't reacted in time, who knows what would have happened to Lamia. 'I wouldn't want to think about that...' The brother mentally shuddered at the thought. He turned to the other student and scratched his cheek absently. "I suppose I should introduce myself..." He trailed off, not sure how to do so. Kearn was pretty much an introvert when he was in the other schools. The student hardly talked to strangers, yet alone another student his age that wasn't his sister.

"I'm Kearn Tempo...My power is Time Theft." Of course time theft worked both ways, so it might be confusing to Lindsey. The teen honestly hoped she didn't freak.

Just in Time~ Empty
PostSubject: Re: Just in Time~   Just in Time~ EmptyMon Jan 27, 2014 1:43 am

Taking a peek from where her parasol was hiding her, she was a bit surprised by what Lindsey thought. Time thievery... Awesome? She must have heard incorrectly - they were always unaccepted in the outside world, complete psychos and monsters, beasts who had no place and should just die. Yet, they can't just stop themselves from using such a gift; they could live forever, but accidents like those always happen. Nobody ever trusted them. Whenever she tried to fit it in, she was neglected automatically without anyone knowing who she was. They didn't belong in the world, mostly her. Lamia just didn't think she had any use or helped give benefit to anyone - she only created all the negative things that people always took as a deed of evil.

She wasn't very pleased when her brother told her something she knew already. Glancing at the ground, her eyes barely looking up to him, the time thief bluntly replied, "I-I... know... S-sorry..." At the moment, it wouldn't be any good to anyone if she had lost all her time in that short notice. She couldn't keep depending on Kearn, but she had to; she couldn't survive without him. For some reason, she had the urge to depend on him - maybe because he was the only one she could be with forever or perhaps because he was the only one she could betray. However, maybe at the moment, when he introduced himself and said of their powers, her heart stopped.

Why would he say that? That would only scare others away and they would never be accepted by any other student when their lives were at risk because of two completely freaky students who needed to steal life to live. She wasn't sure what to say, only a bunch of stuttering could be heard. U-uh-uhmm..." She wasn't going to judge what her brother had done, though, but she couldn't trust Lindsey yet. They've barely met. Who knew - the moment she heard of their powers, she could've just changed completely and leave them without another word. She was going to freak out, spread as many rumors as she could, and they wouldn't be accepted at this school either.

Maybe this time, she really felt like fainting. She didn't want to know Lindsey's reaction to this; she wanted to just disappear right there or at least have no knowledge of what was going to happen. But she couldn't do that. Lamia would have to deal with it - whether she liked it or not.

"Time theft, huh?" she repeated, pondering over the words. That was actually one power she had never heard of before, but at the same time it sounded kind of interesting. But after watching the both of them, it looked like it wasn't so great of a power. And with that, she began to somewhat put the pieces together. In some ways, she was very curious to know if Lamia had the same power, but the two seemed completely different. Lamia nearly passed out, but Kearn looked like picture perfect health. "That's interesting," she said in an unexpected light tone. "So, if you don't mind me asking, what all does that mean you can do?"

A thoughtful frown appeared on Kearn's face. How could he explain his power with out making her afraid? Perhaps mentioning the death part first, then the healing part? That would be good. He glanced at his sister before explaining the power in detail. "Well, everything has a certain lifespan. Like the average human life expectancy is Seventy seven, but some live longer. Even apple trees have a life span longer then a hundred years."

Kearn paused for a moment, choosing his words wisely. " You see, we have the ability to steal other people or object's life force and shorten their life expectancy. However, we can lengthen them if we choose to." Scratching the back of his head in embarrassment, he continued. "In short, we can become immortal, along with others..."

"E-except... I-I can't g-give time... I-I w-wasn't... given that p-part of the... g-gift..." Lamia added quietly, almost a mutter. She didn't know how people would react, but what makes Lindsey any different? Sure, school of gifted students, yet even then, why hang out with kids who could sap your life away for their own sake? It's mainly why she didn't use humans to gather time from - fruit, mainly apples because she really likes their red color.
