Derek sighed, he finally got away from his agitated sister. He could tell she didn't like this academy at all especially with how much anger was in her voice. "She'll get used to it." He said quietly to himself as he sat under a large tree. Derek blamed it on her bitter judgement on anything new and sat down. As usual his little animal friend Smoke laid down at the end of his feet. The little grey fuzzball rolled around and purred as she basked in the sun. Derek chuckled to himself and pulled out his sketchbook, pencil and phone. He plugged in his headphones and put them in his ears as he selected a playlist. He was quiet for a moment as he thought what he could draw. Just as he had a thought come to mind the pencil traced all along the paper leaving clean lines on the paper as he practiced drawing background items and things from different angles. Derek was in his own little world until someone nudged him on the shoulder making him jump a little. He looked up to see who it was as he pulled out his headphones. He almost forgot he had to be social at a place like this. Just what he wanted...

"What'cha drawin'?"

The voice didn't come to the side, instead it came from above. A girl around the age of an older teen, with long pink hair and blue eyes looked down at the sketch. The branch that the willed to poke him in the shoulder moved to it's original spot, giving no sign of having been moving. The student who used the tree to bother the boy sat on a thick low branch, her legs swinging in big arcs beneath her. A bright smile indicated that she actually was interested. Other than the people who just use it for conversation.. She couldn't exactly see much from this angle, and where the sun was at, it added to the struggle. The struggle is real. ;_;

Katsuo walked into the courtyard, red headphones dangling from his ears, connected to a small red Ipod in his jacket pocket. He looked around, a faint smile on his face. The sun was shining and the flowers were pretty today. Plus, he was alone for once.
Well, never mind. There are people everywhere. He passed by where a girl on a tree branch and some guy sitting by himself were at, trying not to make eye-contact. Maybe they wouldn't notice.

Derek's voice hitched at the question, no one really asked him about his art. Right then he realized that he looked like an idiot as he just stared at her and didn't answer the question. The blonde boy let out a nervous laugh in embarrassment and decided to finally speak. "I-Uhm. I'm working on drawing cats and cats. I mean dogs!" He said quickly while stuttering. The boy literally did a face palm from how stupid he sounded. But that's what he gets for being anti-social, right? He stood up and balanced on his toes as he tried to hand her the sketchpad, figuring she asked to see it. Just then he took a step back and knocked into a boy behind him. Derek quickly apologized saying sorry about five-hundred times as he had a nervous look on his face.

There he was, minding his own business, and bam; the guy who was talking all funny suddenly backed into him, kind of hard. Katsuo stumbled sideways, not prepared for that and barely caught himself as he fell forward. He shook his head, blinking as he realized the other student was apologizing to him....Over and over and over again. Stuffing his headphones in his topic with his Ipod, Katsuo calmly held up a hand as a silent way of saying "Stop".
"It's fine. No big deal..." He sighed, raising an eyebrow. He glanced up at the girl on the branch and waved, just to be less antisocial for once. Turning back to Derek, he gave a small smile. "I'm Katsuo."

Scilene reached for the sketchbook, her blue eyes curiously looking over the sketches, noting the different ways the lines were curved. Then she mentally compared them to her style. Scilene hardly drew cats and dogs, instead, she drew plants, flowers, and landscaping. When she did draw animals, they looked like a kindergartener scribbled on the page. It was nice to see how other people drew, and see their style as well. The Autumn student looked up to see the boy from before apologizing to the other. "Hiya!" She waved at them, her bright smile ever present on her face.

Derek laughed like an idiot. "Sorry for apologi- I mean." He sighed. "My name is Derek." The nervous blonde said with a faint smile finally sounding calm for once. He turned back around to see the girl who was hanging above, waving at them. He realized he hadn't even asked her name. " Oh, uhm. What's your name?" Derek said rather loudly hoping she heard the question from where she was sitting. He didn't really mind the two now, they seemed rather friendly. He pulled out his phone and shut the music off as he had a feeling he would be having a conversation with Katsuo and the girl for awhile. He looked over and made sure Smoke was still in her place. Like he expected, she was, being with how lazy the cat could be. Derek realized the girl still had his notebook so he reached his hand up to grab his sketchbook as he put a pencil into his pocket.

Katsuo glanced at the sketchbook, spotting a little corner of a drawing. "Hey, do you draw animals?" He asked suddenly, figuring he'd make conversation. "My sister has a rabbit named Kaoru...Kinda ironic, huh?" He laughed nervously, not really good at the whole 'talking' thing. Dang, he needs to get out more.

Ooc: Irony = Rabbit named Kaoru
Kaoru means "fragrance", and if you ever had a pet rabbit before, you'll see the irony in it XD

Derek nodded his head "Yeah I do, mostly dogs and cats though." Derek said slightly laughing at the rabbit comment. "That is ironic." Derek said kindly, he was honestly surprised he was actually having an actual conversation with people seeing how he was with social situations. Derek thought about how he could continue the conversation. "Do you uh, like to draw stuff or do you have a different 'hobby'?" Derek asked, continuing to smile as he spoke.



OOC: Short post is short. Derek is an awkward child and cannot compute how social things are done.

Scilene let the boy take the sketch book. Considering she really didn't want to drop it when she jumped down. Before she did that, however, she reached behind her head to pull out a pin from the large bun she had her hair in. Her long hair fell passed the branch. She then placed the pin securely between her teeth, before reaching back for her hair. She gathered it all up in one fist, then started to twist it until it was tight enough to where she could put it up in a bun. With the bun in one hand and having removed the pin from between her teeth, Scilene pushed the pin back in.

After she was done adjusting her hair, the pink haired student leaped gracefully down the tree, a few stray hairs that had managed not to be placed in the bun were tucked behind her ear. Once Derek asked for her name, the girl nearly laughed. She had the perfect response to this. Standing next to the two boys, she put a hand on each's shoulder. She leaned her head forward, glancing at both of them with a large grin on her face. "It's for me to know and you to find out."

Katsuo moved his arm away, surprised when she touched him. He didn't like being touched. "Um...Okay? Well I guess it's nice to meet you...Mystery girl." He huffed, rolling his eyes at the last part. He looked at Derek, almost forgetting that the boy had asked him a question. "Oh...I'm not much of an artist, but I like to read." He felt a little awkward, answering his question late. Hopefully no one noticed >n<

Derek backed away slowly from the unnamed girl. He was really confused and just stared at her until he heard Katsuo speak. He had almost forgot he had asked the question in general. the blonde boy thought of something to say in response and quickly spoke. "Reading seems interesting. I don't usually do it myself though." Derek said with slight confidence. He had gotten comfortable with Katsuo and was quite glad he bumped into him.

Ic: "Well most of my reading is actually studying on my ability...Before coming to Beata, the other kids in school were kinda rough. Know what I mean?" Katsuo explained, his eyes looking at nothing as he remembered his old time at a normal high school. They weren't exactly treated nicely, and growing up like that kind of is what made Katsuo so nervous to talk. He was a bit surprised that he had bothered to talk this much with some random guy and a girl who liked to say weird things. Maybe because these people were a lot like him, just like Aiko said? No, no deep-thinking right now. It's weird. Shut up, brain.

Scilene just listened to the two converse. Obviously having to part whatsoever in what ever they were talking about...Reading about their powers? Pfft. She'd rather go out an practice. Learning from experience was much easier for her. Oh. So now they were talking about schools before Beata. 'I was home schooled because my parents didn't want people finding out... Man, I have hardly nothing in common with these guys. Time to change the subject~'

"I guess I would never know, I was home schooled. Hey, by the way! What are your powers?" She straightened her back and glanced between the two before adding quickly " Mine is Plant Manipulation, which is basically the ability to control plant life."

Derek looked at the mystery girl and thought about her question. "Well, I guess you could say I'm a psychic.." He said. "I mostly see things in the present and I usually see them in my dreams. It's really hard to remember them though." Derek added before he decided to just let Katsuo talk.
