No Idea [closed]

A date to the formal... she vaguely remembered that night, glaring at a girl in a sparkling dress, downing one cup of spiked punch after another, falling on her face, vomiting on her pretty red dress once she dragged herself back to her dorm... all in all, a routine night. It was funny how jealous she'd been of Jace's queen in retrospect. Evelyn couldn't help but wonder about her, what they'd done, how close they'd been... She was gorgeous. The Winter remembered that much as clear as day. More pretty than I'll ever be. They'd flirted and danced and got crowned king and queen. So why was it that Evelyn had him now and she didn't?

Things had always turned out strange for her. Maybe that wasn't always such a bad thing.

Evelyn gently cupped his face and leaned in close enough to kiss. "And w-what do y-you want to do?"

Jason didn't let go of her hand, letting it fall back down between them as she took another step forward, tipping in closer to him. Without realizing it, he'd been leaning forward as well, relishing the feeling of her hand against his face. What did he want to do? The Autumn didn't think he was exactly hard to please. The only thing Jace wanted in that moment was to quickly close the distance between them and steal another kiss.
And so he did: once, and then another, and another... His free hand found her waist and pulled her in closer to him. That had to be a good answer, didn't it? Yet he felt there had to be more to say. A lot more, he just didn't know how to put it. He wasn't a poet, for certain.

"I want..." He muttered against her cheek, letting the words fall out. "I want to remember it all." The blond near laughed at himself, supposing that was a stupid thing to say, but it was true.

"You really need to wait up. I'm not going to forget about you."

Did he even remember that? Evelyn let him draw her in close and snaked her other arm around his neck. He might have thought that line made him sound poetic and romantic, but the words sent pangs of regret through her heart. Is it even possible to remember? There was no way to overcome her gift, to tame it, no way to turn it off, even if just for a moment. Would he forget her again, like he'd done once already? Would everything they did together just fade away?

She kissed him again to drive the poisonous thoughts from her mind. Whatever she did, she couldn't dwell on it, not after things had begun to look up.

Jason hadn't noticed her hesitation, nor the bittersweet regret that tore across her face. His eyes closed, his smile disappearing when they met in a kiss again. Unlike her, the Autumn was rolling in optimism. After shit had hit the fan with his dad way back, and leaving Verona the way that he did, he was simply glad - thankful even, that everything wasn't turning out to be absolute crap. Sure, things weren't always exactly good between him and the Winter, and that might be a huge understatement, but he didn't want to think of any of that now. He just wanted to imagine all of the good things to be done with her. She was different. Way different from him, or any girl he'd met before especially. She was...

Ugh. He really was shit with words, he thought, his head pounding some. There were three though, three certain ones that played at him. He couldn't bring himself to saying them. They didn't seem quite fitting to say yet. [strike]The sun wasn't positioned right? The stars weren't in alignment?[/strikr]
That had to be okay. They had pleanty of time. What was the worst that could happen?

They needed to have some fun. He kissed her tenderly on the foreheas before looking back down at her, arms still wrapped around her waist. "Lets go do something stupid fun." He said to her with a crooked smile.

A gentle smile grew on her face as he broke off the kiss. Something stupid fun would make her forget all her doubts, even if just for a little while. It'd allow her to be happy for what seemed like one of the first times in forever. "L-like what?" she asked, letting her hand fall from his face and onto his shoulder. Her thoughts drifted back to a cold rainy day in a cozy cafe, where they talked about traveling and hunting Bigfoot and cake pops and fishing and swimming in Lake Salacia... how they talked about playing a duet and going on a trip to Glacier National Park. How they raced each other in the driving rain, dashing for the safety of Autumn Dorm 401. The day had been gray and damp, but she looked back on it now with an almost dreamlike haze.

Was that what he meant by stupid fun?

Her mind was in the right track, in a way. It was already late summer by now - or close to it, and as far as North Dakota went, there was no point in waiting around to see if the weather turn warmer than it was. Jason's gaze caught hers for a moment before smiling, pushing them gently apart, helping Eve ease away... that was, unless she wanted to be carried, but sonething tokd hin that that probably wasn't the best idea.

The Autumn couldn't answer her, merely smiling instead and moving to put his violin back into his case instead. "We're gonna need to grab some towels on the way." Jace mused, hiding his instrument away in a cabinet to pick up later and heading towards the door. One hand was slightly extended out, inviting the Winter to follow.

"T-towels?" Evelyn repeated, blinking. She stood to follow, taking his extended hand as he paused by the door. Was I supposed to do that? Curiosity tugged her out the door and into the hall. Were they going swimming? Summer had come, and now it felt like it'd almost gone, with September looming out on the horizon... Evelyn had wasted too many warm sunny days by locking herself away indoors, desperately trying to avoid contact. Swimming would feel good, after all this time.

The young man said nothing, shooting her an eager look, determined not to give away his bright idea that easily. He hadn't expected the brunette to take his hand, but he didn't object either, quickly going with it and entwining his fingers together with hers. Jason gave the room one last look around, glancing out the window and seeing the sun just beginning to set on the tall mountains that towered around Beata. It was fairly late in the evening and it'd been consistantly hot and sunny the past few days. If there ever was a time to take a swim, it was now - when the water was warmest from being under the sun for so long. She'd wanted to go out the lake, hadn't she? It was far too cold when they'd went up to glacier, but now was the perfect opporunity - And the Autumn knew all the best places.

Of course, they weren't going to be the only people who wanted to take a dive. They'd passed several other people around the area as they took a small hike around the large body of water. Jace had stopped by an old storge closet along the way and had grabbed several towels for them, tucked underneith one arm. It was quite a bit darker when they'd finally had gotten there, but he paid no mind what-so-ever.

He'd found this place his first year, a small curved edge of the lake, made secluded by the large clusters of trees and enormous granite slabs and boulders that both seating, stiff diving boards, and a comfortable shade. Although it was because it went both ways that Jace never came here often. It was pretty, but lonely. Yoy couldn't see where the students often set off the fireworks on holidays or any of the other parties that often went on. Today though, the seclusion would serve well. A large grin on his face, Jason tossed the towels aside on dry rocks and slipped out his shirt, tossing the fabric aside with ease. He'd lost any bit of self-consciousness a long while ago. "You can swim, can't you?" He glanced over, asking Eve to be sure, kicking off his shoes all the while.

Evelyn trailed after him as they made their way over to the lake, stopping only to grab the towels he'd mentioned earlier. Her nagging suspicions in the back of her mind only grew as they made their way to a particularly secluded part of the lake. There weren't any other swimmers here, even though they'd passed quite a few on their way. What is this about? She glanced up to the sky when they reached the shoreline as dusk settled over Beata. Golden lined the mountaintops, washing them over in the last of the sun's warm rays. The sky was a darkening mottled pink, purple, and blue. Trees and boulders shielded them from wandering eyes.

She covered her blush with her hand as she watched him slip out of his shirt. "Of c-c-course I c-c-can." she mumbled, turning her gaze away... although still watching him from the corner of her eye, 'cause dayum. /bricked. Her eyes flicked to the shirt laying out on the rock, and then back to Jace. "A-are you s-s-sure w-we're not, um... f-forgetting s-s-something?"

Jason looked thoughtful for a few moments, as if he were seriously considering her question, looking from the lake to the towels and back to her. His facade was spoiled by the teasing grin he couldn't manage to wipe away. "Yeah, I'm sure." The autumn called back, unstrapping the belt around his pants. "You don't plan on swimming in your clothes, do you?" He raised an eyebrow at the girl, his smile growing.
Jace pulled off the rest of his clothing, shooting Evelyn a small wink. Nothing she hadn't seen before, right? He walked to the granite's edge and reached down to touch the water, making sure that it wasn't too cold before he jumped it.

He made sure to make the splash as big as possible, reaching over to the Winter if he could, laughing as he met the surface again. Still damn cold, but nothing unbearable - and it felt great. "Come on, its not that bad." He called over, combing his fingers through his hair and brushing the wet bangs away.

"Ah..." She shied away from his, uh, indecency, her blush deepening as her tongue stumbled over all the words. "W-well... I-I... um... is t-that a..." A good idea? Evelyn cast a glance over her shoulder, half-expecting to see some unsuspecting student to come waltzing in through the bushes, but she only saw trees and shadows and the first fireflies dancing in the darkening twilight. Well, it's not like anyone will see us... They were shielded from any unwanted spectators by granite boulders and a grove of trees, and no one was likely to just come wandering all the way up here, especially this late. Unless they have the same idea. How did Jace find this place, anyways?

Her thoughts and doubts were all washed away with the splash. She half-gasped, half-squeaked when she felt the lake water come cascading down, drenching her clothes. Evelyn whirled, caught somewhere between anger and laughter. God damn it...

Not thinking or worrying about anything anymore, she crossed her arms and pulled her shirt up over her head on one fluid motion, casting the wet shirt beside Jace's on the rock. Her skirt was next, then the knife, then all the rest.

What the hell am I doing?

The next thing Evelyn knew, she was jumping into the lake beside him.

The conflicted look on her face as she was soaked with water only made him want to laugh more, falling back and swimming lazily, he tried to keep his eyes on the setting sun but couldn't help but watch the girl from the corner of his eye as the clothes started disappearing. Jace was a little surprised that she was rolling with it so easily, not that he about to point that out. It was great.

The only thing that did put him off was the knife that was hiding under her skirt, wondering hiw long she'd been carrying it and why he hadn't noticed before. He could always ask about it later, the young man figured.

The thought was clear out of his mind by the time she jumped in beside him. Jason threw his arms up go protect himself from the splash, swimming around her as she reappeared on the surface. "Nice, huh?" He mused, coming up behind her. "Feels very free" The blonde smiled playfully, splashing water again at her.

Her momentary carelessness—or, something that slightly resembled carelessness—all evaporated the moment she plunged beneath the water. What the hell was she doing? What if they got caught? Evelyn resurfaced with a gasp, pushing away a damp hank of hair... when she felt his presence behind her. She didn't dare turn around, wishing she could hug her arms around her chest to hide her nakedness, even if it was a sight he'd seen what felt like a hundred times before. The girl flinched when he sent another splash of water her way. "J-jerk," Evelyn muttered only half-playfully, splashing him back with a light wave of her hand. He did have a point. The water was a pleasant temperature for once.

The Autumn laughed, half-turning away to protect himself from the cold splashed of water, glancing up again and seeing her back was still turned to him. He could imagine the wary and uncertain look on her face near perfectly, if he could bother to try and focus on the image long enough that was. "You hurt me." Jason mused back, the teasing strong in his voice. For a few moments, he opted to float lazily in the cold water, shooting glances across the lake or the stars in the sky, or the girl beside him - when their arms brushed and she nimbly caught his attention. He wasn't exactly sure what he was doing then, his hand reaching up and brushing away the wet strands of hair that hung down her back, it seemed longer than usual. Had she bern growing it out?
The thought didn't deem important enough to stay for long anyways. His hands brushed away the last few strands away from the nape of her neck, his lips finding the soft spot not long after. Jace leaned over to mutter in her ear, "You still need to loosen up some." It didn't take long for him to move then, quickly moving aside and scooping the winter above his arms, he pulled her up so she laid back his below the water's surface - just testing and playing around winter.

While Jace's eyes wandered, Evelyn's were pointed firmly toward the sky. Ohgodohgodohgod... This was stupid. Really stupid. What were they doing? She tread water, only daring to look at him once, to offer him a sheepish smile in return for his teasing. When their arms brushed, she felt her heart skip a beat, and she held back a squeak of surprise when he reached out, his hand sweeping over her back in the lightest of touches. She sighed, sucking in breath, when his lips found the nape of her neck. Evelyn let herself fall back into his arms when he whispered, her doubts and worries washing away for just a moment. "A-and... y-y-you're sure this is... w-well..." The girl looked up at him questioningly, with rosy cheeks and a plain face still glistening with water.
