| She worried way too much, he thought. The troublesome look on her face couldn't have been more evident. For a few moments the young man wondered if there was any reason or that at all for it, or if it was simply in her nature. Eve was in Winter for a reason, he supposed. She easily lacked the completely care-free attitude that Autumn was well known for. Give him a small but of credit though, he didn't plan to take thrm someplace where they'd easily be caught. "Positive." Jason answered, smiling down at the brunette and drawing her closer to him, backing further in the lake until he could feel himself start to sink in the soft sand. "We could go back, if you really wanted..." Even as he said these words, he silently hoped not. It was nice and quiet here with just the two of them... swimming in their party suits. /shot | |

| Was he just saying that to make her feel better? She ran a hand over his chest, still looking up at him, before finally letting out a sigh. "N-no..." she said, dropping her gazed. Every rustle and whisper of the trees that lined the bank made her want to dive for safety underneath the water, but she made herself relax and get drawn in closer. Just the wind, just the wind, just the wind, just the wind... And even if they saw her... well, at least they'd only really see him. As selfish as the thought was, it helped ease her nerves. "I'm j-j-just kinda n-nervous, y'know. Heh." Evelyn almost asked him again if he was sure they were safe from any prying eyes, but she decided against it. Instead she spouted the very next thing on her mind.
"Um... h-h-how did you f-f-find th-this place, a-anyways?" It did seem pretty out of the way... It hit her that chances were he hadn't just found the place by chance, and this wasn't the first time he'd visited. She told herself to stop worrying, but all she could see was the girl from the dance in the same position she was right now. Suddenly Evelyn wished she hadn't asked. I really am an idiot.

| Jason laughed quietly at her answer, choosing not to make a big deal out of it and continuing his little side-steps in the water, swinging her round gently against the current. He noticed she kept shooting wary glances into the trees and raised an eyebrown down at her. "You afraid a bird might see 'ya?" The Autumn joked before being apparently thrown off by her next question. An uncertian look came across his face. How had he found it?
It took him a few moments to think about, but he remembered. His first year at the school, a gil invited him, with her friends and a few others for a late night dip. God Bless whosever idea that was at first because it was a great night- erm. Jason shrugged, a crooked smile on his face, a bit more awkward than usual when it came to his nature. "A friend showed me once." He answered back simply, hoping that answer might satisfy.

| Birds weren't what were giving her trouble. That sudden dark look on his face didn't help her unease either.
"A f-f-friend," Evelyn repeated with a queasy smile, her suspicions all but confirmed. Right. At least he's not lying. That's a good thing, right? It was stupid of her to ask in the first place, when she already knew the answer. And how many friends know where this place is? Her not-so-sudden paranoia ate away at her and poisoned the night's beauty. Now even he looked awkward. I ruin everything. She let herself sink a little further down and chose to gaze up at the stars rather than at him. Stupidstupidstupidstupidstupid...

| It almost looked funny how Evelyn just let herself disappear further under the water, as if she was letting herself be dragged down; hanging heavily in his arms. That wasn't exactly the reaction he'd been expecting, but supposed he'd take it and be thankful that she wasn't a mind reader. He caught her staring away from him not a few moments later, staring up at the sky. Jace wasn't sure why it seemed to be like a good idea to mess around with her then, but he went for it.
"Yeah, a few years back. He walks down here every night, likes to sit in those bushes over there." The autumn gestured to a vague area in the forest shore, slickly moving his hands under her thigh and the middle of her back. "So if I were to do something like this -" The young man lifted her up and out of the water over his head, holding back a laugh.

| Ahaha... He was playing a joke, right? Right. That was ridiculous. A joke. Completely a joke. She was positive. Well... mostly positive. Evelyn shot a glance to the lakeside, every shadow seemingly taking on the shape of a person, when she felt his hands move down under her leg and to the middle of her back. "W-w-wait, w-w-w-ha—... EEK!" She came up with a splash and a squeak, flailing. Her face had gone an impossible shade of red. "P-p-p-put m-me d-d-d-down...!" | |

| Jason couldn't help but laugh then, feeling a little bad - though he knew there was nothing for her to worry about. Still, it was hard to keep her up for long as she twisted desperately about. The Autumn dropped her back down quickly, making sure she made it into the water as smootly as the quick time allowed before taking his hands away and up, out of the water. "It's just you and me here," Jace reasoned quickly. "The person who showed me this place left long time ago." He smiled at her, combing his fingers back through his hair. Did she really think he'd strip down so easily if there could be some weirdo nearby? "Believe me yet?"

| Evelyn came down with a splash and sunk down to her chin, getting a sulky look on her face. Even still, it was hard to stay mad... especially with that news. Not here anymore, huh? That was reassuring, at least a little... That first night at Glacier, he'd said that he'd never done anything with anyone else. She hadn't believed him, but could it have been that he wasn't lying? She glanced back at him, pursing her lips. Even if he was telling the truth, it was hard to imagine he was completely inexperienced. "Y-yes," she muttered after a little while, her voice scarcely above a whisper. "I b-b-believe you."
Of course, it was just a stupid joke. Knowing that didn't make her feel any less self-conscious, the mystery girl still not far from her mind. Why are you getting jealous? she asked herself, turning to face him, her embarrassment still evident on her face. It's over now, whatever he had. As if trying to prove it, she swam forward and grabbed him by the shoulder, shutting her eyes and forcing her lips to his. There's nothing to worry about.
If only she could believe that.

| Maybe he'd taken his stupid joke a tad too far, he thought to himself when Evelyn found her place in the water, a sullen look seemingly stuck on her face. He dare take the risk to swim closer to her, gently calling for her attention in a sing-songish tone, completely oblivious to the thoughts that were actually plaguing her. He didn't put much thought into the girl who showed him this place, or many of his exes all that often. They were in the past, so what reasons were there to think about them? Of course, if Evelyn asked, he'd tell her whatever she wanted to know; even if the answers wouldn't be exactly all that grand in her case...
If it came to all that, Jason wasn't going to be the one to push it. He was stuck in the moment and watching the Winter's slender hand reach for his shoulder, lips meeting soon after - more forcefully than he'd expected. It caught him slightly off guard, since he was certain that she was at least little pissed at him, but he wasn't about to complain. He'd been hoping for something like this, kissing her back with a slightly lesser intensity. His hand found its way around her waist and dangerously down her lower back to the soft curves underneith, pulling them slightly closer together. Something about her strange attitude bothered him yet, or maybe this was just her normally? The young man pulled away from the kiss, murmuring against her cheek. "Cheer up?" He asked in an almost teasing tone.

| Evelyn broke off the kiss as she felt his hand drift down. Her lips were still pursed in that sulky expression. A part of her wanted to punch him. A part of her wanted to kiss him again. "No," she said back, only half-teasing, her heart seizing up at the feeling of his breath on her cheek. She was tensely aware of his hand on her lower back, pulling her in closer. Her free hand found his other shoulder, and Evelyn had to wonder if he would take it badly if she dunked his head beneath the water. Half of her was tempted to.
Her arms looped around his neck and she leaned against him, their cheeks brushing. She felt like she should have said something, but the words wouldn't come. Maybe words weren't necessary anymore.

| The blonde could only let out a weak smile, holding back a chuckle when he saw her familiar frown. She wasn't even trying to hide the fact that something was bothering her, and while he might've appreciated her plain nature at almost any other time, skinny dipping in the lake outside school didn't feel like the best of times to do so. Letting out a slightly exasperated sigh, though the small grin still refusing to disappear, he pulled the Winter up and closer to him; burying his face in her shoulder as she hung around his neck.
Jason said nothing for a few moments before muttering jokingly, "Stubborn." His other hand wrapped around her, running up her back and reaching the nape of her neck, perfectly happy staying like that for... well, he wasn't sure how long, exactly. By then, the sun was already long since set, and the evening chill beginning to set in. The water was starting to feel warmer than the air. 2 cold. guess she'll have to stai in his room again ehhh? /brickedgotosleepebs.
How time flew. | |

| They stayed like that for a long time, holding each other, saying nothing, until the sun sank beneath the trees and the last thin rays of sunlight disappeared out from the pines. Once it was dark, well and truly dark, with only starlight and the reflection of the moon off the lake to drive away the gloom, Evelyn shifted in the water, shivering. Goosebumps were raising on her arms where the cold night air touched her skin. I ruined this, didn't I? He'd brought her out there looking to have fun, and she'd squashed that without even trying. What did the others do here? she wondered, before deciding she didn't want to know.
"It's dark," she said at last, breaking the silence. Duh. The trees lining the bank swayed and sighed, and in the darkness, that simple paranoia of being watched was only getting worse. It'd be a long dark walk back to their dorms. Or at least, to one of their dorms. Getting caught so late would be disastrous for too many reasons to name, but that fear seemed minuscule to those nagging doubts that plagued her now. You're a jealous, stupid woman. At least they'd finally reconnected, after avoiding each other since they'd returned. Boyfriend. The term was uncomfortably intimate. Just thinking it made her want to bury her face in embarrassment. Boyfriendboyfriendboyfriendboyfriend... Gross.

| It wasn't all that bad, he told himself. It certainly wasn't what he'd originally had in mind, but it was still, well... nice. Having a cute girl hanging unto him, no clothes, only getting closer as the evening was growing more and more colder. Although the moment didn't leave much room for anything else, for that short bit of time, he was content. With his face hidden, he didn't say much, only giving her a soft kiss against her skin every now and again. He found out quickly enough what they were doing definitely had its drawbacks. He found out quickly enough that with little disraction, his headache soon came pounding back. Jace was determined not to let it get the best of him, though; taking a heavy breath and clenching his teeth, he held onto Evelyn tighter. Unfortunately, for some reason, that only seemed to make things worse and he found himself flinching. Instinct told him to let go and get out of the water, but the urge was stiffled for more reasons than one. He left himself little choice but to zone-out then. It took several moments for her short words to really register and he shot a quick glance up at the sky. Oh, how long had she been shivering? If he were feeling up to it, he'd go on to say that the night offered even better cover for them, but he'd all but given up on that at that point. Jason pulled himself away a bit to look at her, tears stinging his eyes. It was a fleeting glance. "We should probably go back then." He muttered, his gaze quickly drifting to the treeline and the small dock on the shore. "I can head out first, if you want..." | |

| There was a twinge of remorse. Stupidstupidstupidstupidstupidstupidstupidstupid...
Evelyn dropped her gaze into the water, self-conscious all over again. Her mouth twisted in a frown, just for a moment, but it was gone as soon as it came. She followed his gaze to the dark treeline, where their clothes were draped over the rock. The girl pulled away, untangling her arms from around his neck. Head out first? Wouldn't they both go out together? That familiar anxiety came seeping back in, with uncertainty tagging along. How was she supposed to reply to that? It was such a simple thing to say, but even that managed to fluster her. "Um... w-well, uh, n-no, I c-c-can head out first. Heh."
Fuck. | |

| Even with the state he was in, it was easy to notice how quickly she pulled herself away, drawing back and staring down into the water. It took a few moments for him to really react, but he kept her from swimming away any further soon after the words came tumbling out of her mouth. "No, no..." Jason near-sang nonchalantly, waving his hand hardly above the surface of the water. It was hard to be seen, but he didn't notice or care much, forcing a mild smile. "Just in case... We wouldn't want to give your peeping tom the satisfaction, right? I'll have to distract 'em..." Seemingly playfully swam past, nudging her shoulder along the way and muttering curses as he pulled himself slowly out of the lake.
Holy fuck, it was cold, he thought repeatedly, rushing for the towels and laughing at the awkward state - mostly to himself.
Not wanting her to suffer the same fate for long, he picked up her own cloth and held it out for her, glancing up at the deep, starry sky all the while.
