Hanging out [For Echo]

Magic didn't even notice that they were sitting kind of close. He was kind of surprised that she offered to make dinner. "Feel free to use anything in the fridge, and if you need help with anything let me know. He said to the other winter student. He lifted his arms above his head, and gave a stretch kind of showing off his muscles cause of the stretch. He was kind of surprised he had managed to keep his muscles cause of how lazy he was lately. He would just sit around most days. Using his power, he managed to push the ball back towards the couch, and he picked it up to go back to his tossing game.

There were many reasons she offered. One, was to get away from Magic for just a bit to recollect her thoughts. Another was because she really did have to pay him back. And three, Lamia really needed to keep her head out of the clouds - she was still pretty sure he had no idea what he was thinking when he allowed her to stay over. She could've probably came up with more excuses if she tried, but that was for another time. If she thought about it anymore... Yeah, she really didn't want him to see her cheeks all red from absolute embarrassment. Friend or not, she was really regretting not going to Rosebury and sleeping outside or something. Better that than being in a room alone. With a person of the other gender. Rumors were one of her many worries...

She never was an amazing cook. Good enough to survive alone, that's all. Not like she could make anything complex. A simple soup was all she really planned on doing, so once she got everything ready and the fire was burning decently, Lamia let out a small sigh of relief before a sharp pain shot through her head, her hands coming up to hold her head for a moment. Beads of sweat were embedded into her skin and everything seemed so shaky. Turning the front of her hand to her forehead, she cursed herself. How'd she manage to catch a fever in summer? Might've been staying outside in the rain too long... she thought to herself.

Her throat was dry, and her fingers reached to turn off the stove, one hand held at her throat as if it would help clear it up. Everything sounded so faint now, as if they were far away. Even the music that was only a few feet away. Why? Lamia shook her head, resisting anything. I'm not fainting. Not now... Not. Didn't work. Her willpower was terribly weak, and she had blacked out, falling to the floor, her body twitching from discomfort and minor tremors.

A string of soft, incoherent mumbles could be heard, but that was it.

Magic wasn't really paying attention to what was going on over in the kitchen area, but when he heard the thud, he looked over instantly to see Lamia on the ground. Panic grew inside of him. Not again! This was the second time someone passed out on him. Magic raised over to the passed out winter student. Should he take her to the infirmary? This was like what happened to Barry though.. He could see the slight glimmer of sweat on Lamia's forehead. Did she have a fever or something? He placed the back of his hand on Lamia's forehead to find out she was burning up.

Carefully the winter male picked up the limp girl, and placed her on the couch, letting her head rest against the arm of the couch. He left the living area and went to his room for a second to grab a cloth. He came back to the living area, and went over to the sink that they had and wet the cloth with cold water. He wrung out the extra water, then place the cold rag on Lamia's forehead. The boy in the tank top gave off a sigh. He wasn't good with any of this kind of stuff. He didn't have a fan he could focus on the girl... Oh what should he do? Oh.. water.. She might want to drink some water if she woke up or came out of her daze. He went back to the kitchen area, and grabbed a cup out of a ccubboard, and filled it with water. After that he place it on the table. Hopefully she would wake up soon. If she didn't he would take her to the infirmary.

One moment, she was in the kitchen, trying to get herself to settle down for a bit. The next, Lamia woke up gasping for air, her hand subconsciously reaching for the rag that was placed on her forehead. It was so cold and freezing... Her gold eyes glanced left and right, black spots littering her vision where everything was hazy. The place seemed familiar like any normal dorm, but it wasn't hers. As soon as she started to panic, her vision fell onto a well known face, though it was doubled up and she couldn't focus. With a sigh of defeat, she lay back down on the couch, and while her eyes were heavy and as much as she wanted to sleep, there was no need to make anyone worry about her. Not now.

When she opened her mouth to speak, it was just a jumbled mess of phrases and she couldn't get anything to sound right. Pausing for a bit to get a few, shallow breaths in, Lamia slowly managed to get one line out, albeit a little slurred. "I-I'm sorry... f-for this... I-I d-didn't mmmean... t-to..."

Magic was relieved when he heard Lamia's voice. Though it was kind of jumble is still gave him relief. When he heard what she had said he shook his head. "It's alright Lamia. Just relax and take it easy. Do you want some water?" He asked. He probably had some medicine some where. He would just have to locate it. He didn't even know where to begin looking though. Maybe one of his room mate had some in the bathroom maybe? He didn't know. He hadn't been sick since he got here.

The piano music had obviously stopped by now. For when Lamia had collapsed, his mind was completely taken off of keeping the music going. For now he was concerned for Lamia. He needed to take care of her first.

Feverishly, she shook her head. It wasn't like she needed to be tended to... Lamia was perfectly capable of doing everything herself. While she was generally fine with help, there was always that ulterior motive or something... Someone always wanted something back. So she had started getting into a habit of overworking herself so that she wouldn't bother others and they would never approach her or ask for anything. "I-I'm f-fine..." she answered with the same soft voice, straining to make it sound normal. Hopefully, he wasn't paying enough attention to actually hear her. Thank goodness she was so quiet... it was difficult to distinguish a difference in her voice that way.

"I'll j-just... uhm... g-get some rest." That was one way to get him to leave. If she just feigned being tired and sleeping, he'd go away and stop worrying about her, right? Why was he worrying, anyway? The world would be completely better off without her. Or it wanted her to stay so others felt better about themselves and their accomplishments compared to her feeble efforts. Closing her eyes, she slowly regulated her breathing. One. Two. Three. Four. Kearn had always told her that she was great at faking sleep. Maybe she could fool Magic as well, like all the others.

Anything to make him stop worrying about me and worry about someone else. The focus was on her now. She didn't want it to be. It was a rather shoddily thought up plan, but it's worked before. Just anything to shift the spotlight away from her.

Magic nodded. He held a frown on his face though. He couldn't help but be concerned for his friend. Magic let out a sigh, and picked up the cup of water. It was late, and he should probably sleep.. He took the cup to his room so that way he had it if he needed it. He camp back out with a blanket for Lamia. Carefully he place the blanket on top of the slumbering girl, or so he thought she was asleep. He turned off the lights in the room, and made his way back to his room. He closed the door to his room, muffling the sound the door closing made so that way it wouldn't wake Lamia. From there he wouldn't be seen for the rest of the night, until the morning came.

She did feel bad for trying to trick him, but... He didn't have to worry about her. Just an insignificant person, right? Listening in for a while, Lamia kept her eyes shut until she was sure he left, which was... awhile. Groggily, she got up to head to the kitchen to get a glass of water and to replace the rag, with a few minor coughs. Why the hell was it suddenly taking effort to move from one place to another? The fact that she had to feel her way through everything just to make sure she didn't randomly bump into one area - she didn't like it. At all.

Once she'd finally made it there, the Winter let out a sigh of relief, dipping the cloth in the water. Hopefully Magic didn't hear the sink running in the middle of the night... She flinched from how absolutely cold the liquid was. Goddammit, she couldn't be that sick. There is no way. Driving away those negative thoughts, Lamia quickly filled a cup and drank the water, relishing in the crisp, fresh feeling it gave her. At least it helped relieve her scorching throat.

Now, did she really want to sleep? No. She always had trouble sleeping at night, and there was those nightmares that occurred ever so often. Did the center room for the dorms have a decent view of the outside? There was no way she could sneak outside to look at the stars, so if there was just an area to peek just a bit... She couldn't remember the layout.

With a painful groan, Lamia stumbled back to the couch and she was pretty sure she had been awake for maybe a few hours just staring at the ceiling, and thinking. Her hands searched through her bag, successfully reaching her phone. Nothing fancy... a normal, black phone. Pressing the power button, the numbers flashed onto the screen - 3:56 AM. Maybe she could sleep now.

Forcibly closing her eyes, it was the usual routine. Funny enough, she counted sheep just because she had so much trouble sleeping. Most of the time, the Winter cut out off at around 600-ish. Might take less sheep today... After awhile, she had finally fallen into a deep slumber, not stirring until well past dawn.

It was about nine in the morning when Magic woke up. Well he had opened his eyes but his brain wasn't exactly out of sleep mode yet. He laid there in his bed for a moment, waking up fully. He stretched then threw his cover of him. He swing his legs off the side, and stood up. Another stretch. He still had the pants on from last night, but he lacked a shirt. Sound man slowly made his way over to his dresser, and pulled out a t shirt and put it on. There was no way he was gonna go out of his room shirtless, seeing how Lamia was here. Heck he wouldn't do it even if he was on his own.. It just felt weird.

One more stretch, and he headed out of his room to the bathroom, took care of somethings, then went out to the living area. It looked like Lamia was still asleep for now. There was enough light in the room because of the window that Mason didn't bother to turn on the main light. Maybe he should make some food? What would he make? He didn't really want to wake her up though. She needed the rest. hmmm.. Another stretch.. Maybe he should just wait for her to wake up.. Mason gave off a sigh, but muffled it using his power. He could help but be concerned for the winter girl, no matter how much she didn't want him to be concerned he was.

She had woken up multiple times during the morning. Once at 7:00, another time 45 minutes later, and again at 8:30, forcing herself back to sleep. Around 9:15-ish, she couldn't get back to sleep. Back to staring at the ceiling again. Her eyes glanced around the visible area that the couch didn't block from her view, and Magic... oh, he was awake. Stifling a soft yawn that she covered with her hand, she rubbed her eyes, trying to focus her vision so that it wasn't as blurry. Holding onto the blanket as she got up, draping over her body to prevent herself from shivering - regardless of whether it was summer or not -, Lamia walked over to the other Winter, tapping him softly on his shoulder.

"G-good morning..." she whispered no quieter than a mouse scurrying across the field, a small, tired smile on her face. "S-sorry about l-last night."

Magic jumped a little when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around, with a slight frown on his face, but it turned into a small smile when he saw how it was. "Good morning." He replied. "How are you feeling?" He asked Lamia. He wasn't going to even reply to her apologizing. His answer was the same every time, and she probably knew that too. "Would you like something to eat?" He asked another question. He was quite hungry himself.

Lamia took a step back, her eyes falling to the ground again as she realized that she probably got too close again. Should she lie and say she was fine? Should she just tell the truth? Maybe just ignore the question? He'd hear her coughing in the end. There wasn't a point in trying to get out of this one. "J-just a l-little b-better," she softly answered, wincing slightly from a sudden dizzy spell that went away almost as soon as it came up. "I-I'm not hungry... I-I should go p-pick up th-those keys." That was one way to do it.

Avoid him. She really hoped he didn't read the message incorrectly... She really didn't want him to worry about her. Tossing the blanket back to the couch, the cloth floating slowly and slightly missing its target, she just realized what a bad idea that was. It was so cold. And freezing. Lamia was holding back from shivering, and was walking to the door, but she was moving so clumsily. Her balance was so off.

Goddammit... I won't be able to reach the office, she cursed to herself inwardly. Having paused in her movements, she shook her head. "I-I really c-can't do anything on my own..." It was a hushed murmur, but he heard it. She knew he did.

Mason shook his head. "Lamia, lay back down. Your keys can wait." He commanded. He was going to be a bit stern this time cause he could tell she didn't want he to worry about her, but he was and there was no changing that. "I will pick up your keys later. Right now you need rest." He said as he walked over to the living area, and picked up the blanket again. He walked over to the winter girl and wrapped the blanket around her again. "Please just rest.." He pleaded to her in a soft tone.

There was no use trying to fight back on that command. Lamia shot him a grateful smile, before hesitantly walking back to the couch, and laying back down. She turned away from him though, placing the blanket over her head. Her cheeks were red from embarrassment and shame again... he didn't need to see that. He might not be dense or oblivious, but he didn't need to think she was even sicker than she had told him. Now that she thought about it... "Th-thank y-you..." the words felt foreign on her tongue. Maybe because she was so used to apologizing for troubling others instead of accepting their help. "... f-for h-helping me."

Magic gave off a sigh of relief. He was glad she actually listened to him. Hardly anyone does that. He walked back to the kitchen area. "We have some soup. Would you like some?" He called out to his sick friend. "Also would you like another cold rag?" He asked. The other one was probably on the floor somewhere. It probably picked up some dust and other nastiness. Though despite this dorm having all dude living in it, Magic managed to keep it pretty clean. Well except for his room. When he heard her thank him a smile grew on his face. "I'm just looking out for a good friend is all." He stated.
