A 406 Soirée [PARTY THREAD - open for everyone!!]

As much as Leo would kill her for this, she couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Being a prefect and all, she'd make sure the party would slip by fine with the staff. 'Get-together' or not, if someone did find out, she already could back whoever planned it up. It wouldn't be that hard, anyways. She hadn't gotten too fancy, but decided to wing it and throw on just a simple dress. Well, simple to her at least. Either way, she would have fun at the party tonight. It wasn't every day she could catch a few students around without it being passing period and the hallways being a chaotic mess. Walking up to the door, placing a few solid knocks and walking in, she was relieved to find that she hadn't gone too far out on her attire. But there was one thing, and it only took one bobby pin to be pulled out to fix. That was her hair, she had put it up in a bun, but in a split second it was replaced with a single, long braid. Putting the pin back in her hair, she looked around for a familiar face or two. Of course it was easy to spot out her dorm mate Preston, but she was surprised Kayla wasn't there. 

Her eyes immediately found the alcohol, and although she wanted to grab it so badly, had to keep herself from doing so. Leo would find out, and he'd certainly kill her. Maybe even literally, but she knew he'd be mad if she had touched it. The first person she saw was Jace, and decided to strike up a conversation with him. If he got boring after awhile she'd probably go over and bother Preston, because to her it seemed he was enjoying himself a bit too much with the female attendants. "Since when did you start coming to parties?" She asked with a smirk, already giving off in both her tone and facial features she was just messing around. The more she was there though, and the more that the alcohol stench took to the air, was the more she went mad. Her thirst for a bit of booze would probably take over her soon, but hey. She'd try, right? There was only way to stop an addiction, to get rid of it and try to push yourself away.

'Okay, now you can say hi to someone.' No dice. Grace tentatively stepped further into the room, accidentally kicking an empty beer bottle across the carpet. This was definitely not her scene. Then again, what was her scene? Maybe she had to make something, anything, into what she did. After all, she was in control of her own destiny, things like that. The music didn't really appeal to her; not that she knew what song was playing anyway, considering how loud the talking had become. So maybe she would've loved the song; was it too soon to judge? In a way, she felt practically invisible, easily slipping between small groups of people talking, drinking, laughing, barely even ghosting across a thread of their clothing. That eventually led her to a new location: the exact opposite side of where she'd been standing. Not exactly a cross-country trip.

Her eyes glanced across the room, falling upon a group of people chatting away on a couple couches. They certainly seemed comfortable with the surroundings. Quickly she averted her eyes, though she doubted that anybody had picked up on her staring. Still, the off chance of gaining confidence via osmosis was probably less than her drawing attention and making a fool of herself. Glancing around a couple more times, she pulled out her phone and stared at the blackened screen. There wasn't really anyone she could text, and God forbid she actually told her family this was where she was tonight. No, the phone would just stay in her hand, being just as much a part of the event as she was: not really. Where did they all get the confidence to do this stuff?

A party.. A party should be fun right? Vincent thought as he was walking down the hallway towards the party dorm. He hadn't been to a party before. He could already he the music from down the hall. The summer student walked slowly, he was a bit nervous, but he held a smile on his face. He was a bit excited for it though. He was bound to see new people, and people he knew.

Once he reached the door the pyromancer took a deep breath and let it go. He walked in the the dorm, and already the smell of alcohol hit his nose. Well it was this kind of party eh? Shouldn't hurt to have just one.. Before he even grabbed a bottle he looked around to see if he knew anyone, but he didn't he didn't recognize anyone here. Well hopefully he would make some friends then. The long haired boy grabbed a bottle of beer from somewhere and opened it, and took a swallow. Yeah this should be fun.

It had been a long time since there had been a party at Beata; so when Verona had caught wind of a possible "get together", she practically jumped at the chance to go. The brunette had waited for the party to amp up before she joined, but as soon as she could hear a faint trace of chatter from her dorm she decided she better join before the party got too wild. Verona took her time getting to the dorm, a smug grin settling on her face as she approached the dorm. She fluffed her hair, reapplied her lip gloss, and confidently welcomed herself into the heart of the party.

Verona did a quick once over of the room before making her way towards the beverages. She stopped as she heard a few boys reprimanding a girl, apparently named Jane, about how great her party was. Verona couldn't help herself, and turned her attention towards the girl with mousy blonde hair. "This is your party?" She asked, although she didn't really care... she already knew the answer. "Well... he's right," She started, resting her hand a hand on D'Angelo's bicep and beaming towards the other girl. "You did a good job, it's so cute of you to through such a nice 'get-together'!" The brunette let out a playful laugh, and watched with a raised eyebrow as a boy kissed Jane on the cheek and presented her with a flower. "Oh that's really pretty." Verona said sincerely, looking from the flower towards the boy who had produced it. She fluttered her gaze back towards Jane, " I'm Verona by the way... and uh, what's your name again? Don't feel bad, I'm kind of bad with names."

And who else would show up but her Flower Knight? She'd been waiting to see that smug face in this sea of people. "Hey there, white knight," Jane replied with upturned eyes and a teasing grin, suddenly realizing that she'd never even learned his name. Oh well. That could wait. The girl turned to the other two, brushing away her hair to show off the blood-red flower that had suddenly appeared behind her ear. He was a smooth one, wasn't he?

Jane's eyes scanned the room. The party was filling out nicely, and for the most part everybody seemed to be having a good time. For the most part. She glanced over as another girl came walking through the crowd toward them.

There wasn't any need to push and shove for Verona; when someone like that came walking through a crowd, people would scramble to clear a path. To call her just 'beautiful' or 'magnetic' almost felt like an insult. There was just something enthralling about her; some people just had that kind of presence, Jane figured.

"Ha, pretty, don't you think?" she asked, adjusting the stem. Under normal circumstances, Jane might've been sharp enough to sense the barbs hidden in her words, but circumstances were rarely normal in Beata Academy. "Yeah, this is my party. It really means a lot for you to say that."

Instinctively, she smiled. "My name's Jane Grey," she told her. "Like the queen."

Why did Jane have to draw crowds? It didn't matter if it was her own party or if she was jumping off a building, there was always a group, mostly boys. Logan looked away and smiled bitterly, before stepping back to poor himself a drink. One of many to come. He'd never been drunk before.

Maisie smiled at Montare. Her smiles never seemed comforting or warm, however, and this one was no exception. The girl got close to his face, her eyes an intense blue. "Girls and boys don't talk at parties to get along." She got close to his ear, leaning in further. Her hot breath clipped him, and she put her hands lightly to his shoulder, one on top of the other. "You think you can handle me, boy?" she whispered softly. She bit her lip, and then spit sharply into his ear. After a brief pause, Maisie walked off in hysterical laughter, slipping through the crowd and downing her beer.

"Bitch." That was the sole word that came out of Montare's mouth as Maisie began to walk away, which he said just as loud as if he were talking to someone. Unless the word really got drowned out by the noise in the room, it was more than likely someone heard it. Not caring about the consequences of what he said, Montare opened the bottle of vodka in his hand and took a swig of it before looking around the room once again. He saw Jane again, and considered going over to her before another familiar face caught his eye. Jace. Seeing this made him stay where he was, trying to avoid drawing attention to himself.

D'angelo was caught off guard when he felt a hand rest on his bicep. Slowly turning his head In the direction of the girl who had made her way to the small group. She was a sight to see. Really pretty. The type of pretty where once you lay eyes on it's hard to look away. Trying his hardest to take his eyes off of her; he didn't want to creep her out by staring at her for too long. Luckily, His attention was thrown at Jane as some guy had came and kissed her on the cheek. And just like he had came, he had left like nothing had happened. Leaving behind a flower that was made out of thin air.

What a creepy guy. D'angelo thought to himself watching the unknown guy walk alway. "Verona huh? That's a pretty name with a face to match it." It took him a moment to process what he had said. Why did he say that? D'angelo had no clue.

"Good," she replied with a playful smile on her face before taking rather large gulp from her drink before placing it on the coffee table in front of them. "Im Penny. It's nice to finally meet a handsome face like you in these hallways." Suddenly her eyes darted towards the people still walking through the door out of complete curiosity for a moment to see Jace. She really wasn't expecting him to show up tonight... Or Verona. Wow, they decided to get out and do something. Quickly, she turned her attention back towards Preston, leaning just a bit closer towards him. Not too much but just enough to show a little more flirtiness.

This really wasn't his scene. It honestly made him a bit uncomfortable as he walked in the door, looking around at all of the people who were having conversation and then there were others hanging all over each other all while having some sort of alcohol in their hands. Yet Richard chose to come. He really had no idea why. Maybe to see what this partying thing was about, but as he entered, he realized just how many people were trying to cram into one 4-person space. There was hardly any room to freely walk, especially around the front door. Closer to the back was still filled with more people and one girl who was desperately looking at her dark phone like she was waiting for someone to contact her. That's how he felt right now. Quickly making his way to the back trying not to gag from the terrible smell of alcohol, he awkwardly stood next to Grace, not really trying to strike up a conversation, but kind of screwed that up when he accidentally bumped into her when he saw that one particular person he was not expecting to see... Verona. Oh well. She hadn't seen him yet, so it wasn't a problem, however, when he bumped into Grace, he quickly turned around, backing up to give her more space. "Sorry! I'm so sorry. I didn't hit you too hard, did I?" he asked, his face already turning red from embarrassment.

The Autumn laughed a bit under his breath, a sweet sound, and he shot her a small wink before noticing an all-to-familiar face walk in. It was his sister, and she seemed at the top of her game as ever. Some part of him was a bit happy to see her out and about, much like her old self again, but another - far more bitter feeling came as well along with it. He'd always been somewhat jealous of how easily people flocked to her and their older brother, but he was determined to still make the best of the night. He broke his gaze away from the small crowd, looking back to Penny instead, turning to face her a little more on the couch and throwing one arm over the cushion behind where she sat. He didn't feel like wasting much time. "Pleasure is all mine," he said. He held out a hand for her to shake. "Preston Andrews."

Jason hadn't expected anyone to walk up to him so soon, especially with all these new students around, but he couldn't say that he didn't mind all that much. His gaze followed the sound, turning to see none other than Keirsta Chree, with a unique dress and strangely no drink in hand. It left him a bit confused. If she wasn't here to drink and have fun, then she was here to break up the party, but if she wasn't wearing her prefect uniform, then she was here to have fun? Wasn't she known for being one of the 'fun people' at these things? "Since I stopped caring who noticed if I showed up." He shrugged, "I could say the same thing for you. What about your new hall-monitor thing?"

It was then, not too far off, that he noticed his cousin Maisie was here as well, having a little spat with someone - none other than Montare Lupo himself. He felt a flicker of irritation. He hadn't heard much from the guy in a long time, but he supposed that doesn't mean he didn't stop being a creeper, and now with his family of all people? Jace gave Keirsta an all-too courteous smile. "Excuse me, for a moment." The blonde came up just as soon as Maisie was leaving. He'd heard her call her a bitch as her back was turned. The young man grabbed at Montare's shoulder, noting quickly the bottle of vodka in his hands. "That's my cousin you're talking about," he said lowly, a stern expression suddenly on his face. "You might want to take that back."

Beata Academy.

It'd seemed like such a strict, prestigious place on all the cheesy pamphlets that he'd been given. At first he'd believed it. Checking into the school had been a rather grueling and boring experience. He'd gone to the trouble of doing it all on his own, to save himself from needing anyone elses help. The dorm rooms were bland, the teachers were blander, and the other students all seemed to keep to themselves; all-in-all it felt like he'd gone to spend the last few years of his adolescence wasting away in backwoods North Dakota.

That was until he'd heard whispers about an innocent party in the Autumn dorms on the way to class that morning. No one else in the initiate dorms seemed to have known about it, and there were no signs or posters or anything that seemed to indicate something special was going on. It gave him the feeling that this 'hang out' wasn't so innocent after all. He was glad to see that he was right. 'Maybe this place won't be so bad after all,' he'd thought to himself, walking closer out into the middle of the room. This was the perfect opportunity for him to get truly settled in with the right crowd, now if only he could start it off with a drink...

Verona wasn't sure what to make of Jane. Her sincerity was somewhat alarming to Verona considering the jabs she had just taken at the blonde; but after a quick once over Vera decided this innocence was a sign of submission and Verona was at ease. "Oh how cute! That's my little sister's middle name." She flashed Jane another smile. "It was so nice meeting you Jane." Vera was growing bored with the younger girl and turned her attention back towards D'Angelo.

"Oh you really think so?" Verona asked, biting her lip and looking down at her feet in a feign of bashfulness. "That is so sweet of you." The brunette gushed, putting a hand on her chest and grinning up at the boy who was so tall she would have never guess he was two years her junior. "I'm gonna' go, but maybe I'll see you around sometime?" And with a swift wink the girl had turned and was sauntering her way into the crowd.

Verona stopped towards the side of the room and stopped next to no one specific. She looked over to see who it was [Vincent] and tilted her head towards the boy. "I don't think I've ever seen you around campus. Are you new?" The autumn said in an attempt to strike up a conversation.

Maisie did hear Montare's curse, and didn't bother to even turn around in acknowledgement. She just raised her beer high in the air and laughed it off, spinning to avoid hitting people. The problem was, she ended up bumping into someone anyway.
"Excuse me, Ginger," She slapped her hands to Liam's chest to soften her collision, smiling coyly at him. Her eyes were tired, or maybe seductive, or maybe drunk. "Could you show me to the bongs, if you have an idea where they are." She blew a blonde streak of her from over her face, sending a small puff of beer-soaked breath into his face.

Montare froze as he heard the all too familiar voice from right behind him. So much for Jace not noticing. And this girl was related to him? Montare set the bottle on a small table within arms reach before his turned around to look the blond in the eyes. "Sorry, it's just that I didn't expect such a rude response after I thanked her for paying 600 dollars for everything at this party." Somehow, Montare had a feeling the words wouldn't go over well, and he was glad he had only consumed a very small amount of vodka thus far.

"Ah!" It wasn't painful; it was only a minor accident, after all. Grace only let out a soft, surprised cry as she was momentarily moved from her current location by an accidental bump. Clutching her phone tightly to keep from dropping it, her back bumped against the wall, allowing her to get back to standing still. Looking over, then up… then even more up, she locked eyes with a tall blonde boy, whose face was beginning to be tinged with red. Grace gulped, realizing that she now how to say something. It was a perfect opportunity, though: she just had to say it was alright, and then introduce herself.

"I-i-it's o-o-okay." 'Shoot.' Of course her stuttering would be back in full force. Her own face began to match his, and she tried to use mental willpower to stop the accursed stammering. "I-I w-was in th-the way." Wait, that wasn't right… What was wrong with her? She'd been so excited to socialize even less than a year ago, but now attempting it was pure torture. She couldn't even pretend to exude coolness: she just looked like a tiny mouse staring up at a lion in pure terror. It wasn't a great look.
