Round 1: Mikaelson / Leiden vs. Jackson / Collins

Barry had approached his family about entering this tournament. Ed had said that he didn't want to go through it again. Erik had been too scared to do it. Noah was... Noah. But Felicity had agreed, so they had entered. He had been training for this for about a month now, getting his stamina back up and even higher than it had. He needed an anger outlet that didn't have lasting effects. Ed had no idea what he had been doing, holed up in the academy all the time. The green-eyed speedster had been keeping it a secret. His hair was still at Emo Barry levels, however.

He looked around at the futuristic city, noticing the lack of space between buildings. This would be interesting. "So Felicity, think you're prepared?" he asked with a small smirk.

The other speedster was way less confident than her cousin. Felicity bit her lip, giving Barry the slightest of nods. Vibrating hands shook from anxiety, just barely able to grip the bands of her hair tie. In a swift moment, it was secured once more. While she didn't nearly have as much training as Barry, she figured they would do well. After all--being fast meant they were hard to hit. Felicity kept her eyes trained on the team across from her. Heart beating faster than a hummingbird.

Walking up to the platform, Renji twisted his back from side to side, creating a satisfying popping sound each turn. Running a hand through his long, orange hair, the Winter looked around, anxiety bubbling in his stomach when he spotted the other team chatting a little ways away from him. This was his first year attempting to battle at the Summer Tourney and while he had his doubts, he was still excited. Looking around, his partner didn't seem to be anywhere in sight yet which brought on some worry, but he pushed it away. Maybe she was just someone who liked to arrive fashionably late. Besides, he couldn't jump to conclusions seeing that he didn't even know who his partner was...

Katie took out some sharp objects she had collected, which consisted mostly of safety pins, regular pins, staples, and box cutters, and more. She delicately pricked her finger with a pin and began to morph the small amount of blood into various things. She had been practicing for a while, honing her skill. The scarlet drops quickly morphed into a deadly needle. This was her newest skill, one she'd been working on in case she needed it.

Her eyes met those of her partner, silently asking if her partner was ready to fight.

In an instant Barry had unhooked his escrima sticks from his hips and prepared to charge. He waited however, until his opponents made the first move. He didn't want to rush in and get caught doing something stupid. He twirled the escrima sticks in his hands and watched carefully under partially concealed eyes. His hair came in handy sometimes. He hoped Felicity knew what he was getting at, but didn't want to alert the other team.

It seemed that Felicity picked up on that pretty fast, her feet were angled in readiness. However, she followed her cousin's movements, a chain with weights at each end was readied, a nervous grin spread across her face--ready to make a move.

Noticing that his opponents seemingly froze with fear, Barry smirked and dropped his escrima sticks. He wouldn't need them. "You take the girl. I've got the guy," he told Felicity. Taking off at top speed he stood mere inches away from the boy. "If you aren't gonna do anything in a fight don't sign up for one," he told him through gritted teeth. The speedster vibrated his hand and in one swift motion, he thrust it into the boy's chest, effectively stopping his heart. Barry pulled his hand out and the orange haired boy collapsed onto the ground. "Pathetic."

Katie immediately tensed, focusing on the feeling of blood coursing through her veins. It seemed like she didn't even notice her partner's death, not that she would have cared had she noticed. Her heart was cold despite the inner warmth her body carried. Slowly and with much concentration, a hole in the palm of her hand was punctured from the inside by a rising point of blood. Instead of oozing and dripping or doing anything that blood would normally do, it stayed in place and even appeared to harden like steel or diamond, becoming as sharp as obsidian, but not nearly as brittle. Her other hand, her left, was also punctured, but instead of a sickening blade, a small sphere of crimson floated out. And as soon as her scarlet scimitar was ready, she lunged at Felicity. However, she held her bullet back in anticipation to see where she would dodge, working under the assumption that Felicity was also a speedster.

Clearly, she was not one for words.

Felicity was not dumb, she could see her opponent run towards her. She could see the weapon not quite yet moving to attack. Her brows narrowed considerably. Was this girl honestly trying to anticipate where a speedster was attacking? For real? Even if she managed that, Felicity knew she would be able to dodge. Where was the fun in that? Pursing her lips, the female speedster opted to amuse the girl.

Suddenly, she began running back and forth, creating a speed mirage around her, seemingly as if Felicity took up place around her. The real was constantly moving-- unseen. She broke the mirage for not even a split second to land a few blows with her fists on Katie's back. Then proceed to continued the mirage.

Felicity's red eyes anticipating movements and watching the red liquid that sprayed out from her hands. People only have a limited amount of blood. Thus meaning she had limited ammo. All she really needed to do was keep going until she passed out from lack of blood--or she broke the other girl. Which ever one came sooner. All in all, Felicity was not that worried. In that same mind set, she did not let her guard down.

The thirteen-year-old's face turned even more grim, if that was possible. Her eyes darted from one mirage to the next, noticing how they all stood still. They weren't clones or else they'd be attacking her. They had to be fakes. Then she was rapidly punched in the back. Grimacing, but then pretending to be like that one superhero, briefly allowing herself to be a child, she shot a web of deep crimson, filling it with a high amount of platelets to make it very thick, gooey, and sticky.

Katie then waited for her opponent to get caught. She used a bit of blood, about as much as someone would give in donation, to set the trap, so she was still in the safe zone. If it came down to it and she was woozy, she could re-use what she had already spilled or force her blood cells to split very quickly (as she controlled them on the cellular level). The latter was a trick she had learned from constantly being tested on for her strange, never-before-seen blood type. But it was an unstable trick. She could do it maybe once without seriously messing herself up like she had the time her gift had been discovered and she'd been sent to Beata.

Felicity easily side stepped the net and gave the girl a raised brow. "Okay, look. You are not going to hit me like that." Maybe she felt bad for the younger girl. On the same hand, she didn't. While Felicity wasn't on par with her cousin battle wise, she could still accomplish minor feats. Such as--in a flicker, the girl vanished from view, appearing on her other side. Without even time to blink, her hand vibrated into the muscle of the girl's arm. She ripped the muscle right were the deltoid met the bicep, causing unavailability to use that arm. Within another instant she reappeared a distance away.

The speedster figured that even if all of her muscles were ripped apart, she could still have control over her abilities. Head cocked to the side, the girl gave the other a sheepish smile. "If it is all crash with you, I'd give up in those shoes of your's. You are absolutely moded at this point. You would need a the big guy upstair's grace to hit me. Shame is, that it isn't Easter. No deus ex machina will save you." The speedster reasoned, flashing away yet again. Not quite as fast before, but rather just so her position changed in the most random of patterns. The child was new with her power. Hitting a speedster is slim to none. Despite only beginning, the other member of Katie's team was already out.

In a fit of amusement, the red head made a mock yawn, patting her open lips that were stretched in an 'O' form.

Katie undid her bloodsword and grabbed her left arm, feeling pain shooting through it. She gasped, but held firm. She was used to pain. She was used to needles. Lots of them. The little girl gritted her teeth and began moving the blood that had previously been a sword in a circle around herself, shooting it out in all directions as sharp needles. They were so tiny and so close with little to no room between them. It was like being shot with a volley of arrows. If arrows were made of blood and mere centimeters apart.

She planned on at least some of it hitting her opponent or splattering her, in which case she would be able to manipulate it into burrowing into Felicity's flesh. Felicity was fast, she knew that, and Felicity could phase through things. But if a little bit of blood got on her, would she try wiping it off? After all, Felicity didn't know the young teen's limits.

Glints in the slight of the metal city showcased the sheer number of needle like blood...objects. Felicity wasn't certain. In the instant that they flew in all directions, the speedster narrowed her eyes. She would have a hard time phasing her entire body though it all, and genuinely did not want to risk getting cut by the blood. That would be gross.

Rather than try and pass though it, Felicity merely took off around the block. Leaving a few buildings between her and the girl. Of course, the buildings were made of glass and metal and Katie could easily see though. That being said, Felicity reasoned that if the needles went out in all directions, they would eventually spread to where Felicity could easily step to the side between the volleys. Even at that, if she really wanted, scaling the buildings were not out of the option either.

Whatever the case, she figured she was safe behind the polished iron.
