Barry noticed Aspen stepping back as well and returned her nod. Then his gaze turned back to Magic as he shifted closer to Aspen and he knew what was coming. But before he could move his dorm mate, the little Winter girl had pushed her out of the way, and watched in horror as she was struck full on by Magic's sound infused punch. He hurried over to Aspen where he helped her back up and turned to Magic. "What the hell is wrong with you today, Magic?" he asked, disbelief clear in voice.

Magic reeled back once he saw who he had hit. He backed up enough to be out of range of the other students. He would have to cross a good distance if he wanted to reach them again. He found himself standing next to the punching bag again. What the hell was wrong with him? He had failed.. He failed so badly.. He didn't even try to warn them to get away instead he continued punching the bag.. He had purposely attacked them.. He purposely hit Lamia... Last time he tried to avoid hurting the others.. He had screwed up so badly.. He was the monster that his mother always saw.. This time it was completely true.

He looked to the ground, his eyes wide. He didn't want to look at them. He had failed. He placed his hands on the side of his head, and dug his fingers into the side of his head, though it wasn't causing any damage it still looked a bit painful. He wanted to scream, but he knew if he did it may cause pain for the others. He didn't want to hurt them anymore.. He was really frustrated with himself at the moment. With a loud growl, Mason spun on his feet, and suck a fist into the punching bag, sending it flying of it's hanging thing. The bag hit the ground with a loud 'thud'

PostSubject: Re: Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open]   Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open] - Page 2 EmptyThu Jul 23, 2015 11:07 am

Blocking the actual attack was one thing. Blocking against the sound effects was another thing.

It wasn't just a punch, thanks to infusing his gift into the blow. It felt more like getting run over by a car. Her defensive position was lost, the wind knocked out of her as she went flying backwards, and she could feel herself tumbling and rolling across the ground, across the hard, glossy floor. How smooth it was didn't make it easier for her to stop skidding. Then she was on her back, just like that. Blood was welling up from the after-effects in various places all over her arm and chest on new wounds. It really was dumb of her to take the attack head-on... But better her than the others.

She was used to getting beatings. Lamia had been punched, kicked, clawed, and slapped by all kinds of people, by grown men and women or girls her age, but this was something completely different. Something with a superpower. She was staring at the ceiling, lights dancing in her rather blurry vision. The first thing she did, rolling onto her hands and knees, was cough up blood.

She could hear the footsteps heading away from her. Further and further... And the punching bag falling onto the ground with a loud crash. Covering her mouth for a moment, the red oozing through her fingers, she turned away from the others, in hopes that they haven't seen anything. Anything to not blame him for what happened... It was her fault. No one else's.

The power of sound... Everything was hazy in her vision, as she was gasping for breath, holding back any hacking fits. Not like she needed to lose more blood. Grabbing a tissue from a pocket in her uniform - conveniently because she had been holding a pack for her coughs - she cleaned the remaining blood from her hand and mouth, the crimson red staining the white tissue like paint coloring a blank canvas.

Slowly getting up in a feeble effort to stand, stumbling every so often. Her uninjured arm clutched the limp one at her side, in pain. They weren't finding out the truth... They couldn't. Lamia passed the other two, disregarding when she blinked, her eyes turning back to the bright, gold color. Magic only looked like a silhouette in her teary-eyed vision, but she gave him a small smile. "I-I'm sorry f-for not being more h-helpful," she whispered softly into his ear before taking a step back. You got this...

Her eyes turned to Barry and Aspen, and she started rather quietly. "Nothing's wrong with him..." A deep breath. "It was entirely me." A hand came up, pointing at her right eye. Calming herself, she finally continued. "I-I made him do th-that... Gold t-to blue a-and back."

"My o-own power... I-it gets out of h-hand sometimes... H-he was just st-stopping me fr-from losing control." A breathy giggle escaped, sweet as a bell, and Lamia said, "H-he could just sense what was wrong... b-but I was too far. I-I'm sorry for the trouble..."

They won't blame him... Never.

PostSubject: Re: Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open]   Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open] - Page 2 EmptyThu Jul 23, 2015 11:24 am

Aspen had released from Barry's grip silently thanking her dorm-mate but she was much more concerned for Lamia then her own self. The autumn took one quick glance towards Magic only sighing before she had rushed over towards Lamia. She blinked at her wounds, she was completely covered in blood wounds on her chest, how did Magic even do that? It had too be his power it was the only clear answer. They needed too get Lamia too the infirmary before her wounds got serious. As the punching bag had fell Aspen had only frowned, seeing that Magic only got more upset. She knew that he didn't mean too hurt anybody, and he really didn't want too Hurt Lamia. Out of all of them here Lamia was the weakest, it was rude too tell it to her face but it was true, she was looked down upon as a weakling. Aspen didn't view her like that though, everyone had their own strength and weaknesses, not everybody was perfect after all.

As Lamia stood up Aspen had found herself backing up again, walking towards Barry an eyebrow rose as Lamia started speaking. The autumn frowned, blinking at her words. It was true that her eyes changed color, but her words seemed unlikely, for now she had too believe them. "Let's just go infirmary."

Barry agreed. "You need some medical attemtion. I won't take no for an answer." he said, moving closer to the injured Winter. He barely gave Magic a second look before assisting Aspen in escorting Lamia to the infirmary. He had a hard time believing that it was this girl's faul for whatever was going on with Magic.

PostSubject: Re: Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open]   Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open] - Page 2 EmptyThu Jul 23, 2015 1:13 pm

Magic tensed up as Lamia approached him, and whispered in his ear. Why did she take the chance on getting close again? Why was she apologizing? Why was she taking the blame? It was all his fault. He had hurt her.. Again.. He looked up at the winter girl, sadness apparent in his eyes. His gray-green eyes were dull, and kind of lifeless. Why did he always have to fail? Why did his failures have to end up with Lamia being hurt? She was probably afraid of him now. She was probably just apologizing so he wouldn't be upset, but he was.

With a sigh the dark-haired boy picked up the bag, and hung it back on the thing. Though he desired to break the bag at the moment. It could be done if he really wanted it, but right now he needed to calm down. He took a deep breath then let it out. He unclenched and clenched his hands numerous times. "Remember your best friend... remember the fun times.. Don't think about the fights.. Don't think about breaking bones..." He muttered to himself. He lifted his right arm and clenched his left sleeve tightly. "Clam down.. Calm down.." He mumbled.

After a moment he was in his right mind, but he was still upset about what he had done. He wouldn't be attacking anyone else anytime soon though. He just kind of shuffled around murmuring things to himself to keep from going back. He didn't need another relapse. Not now anyway.

Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open] - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open]   Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open] - Page 2 EmptyThu Jul 23, 2015 1:32 pm

Getting assisted by others was something she never enjoyed. Even when she was injured. Her eyes narrowed dangerously to the other two, and she shook them off her. The infirmary was terrible... a prison. After months staying in there because of an accident she caused, she was so unwilling to go back there again. "N-no..." Her voice sounded muted and so quiet, like a whisper in the middle of an overcrowded city. "N-no! I-I'm fine. I-I can fix i-it myself." She was really just trying to reassure herself that she wasn't that useless. She could still do things on her own...

But you are worthless and pathetic. Isn't that why you got in the way in the first place?

The voice in her head was always mocking her. Why couldn't she drive it away? Biting her lip, her free hand started to glow a soft yellow as her eyes closed. Just focus on healing the wounds... She never knew how Kearn had managed to do it, but it was something she figured out with her own method. Exchanging her own lifespan to heal wounds. The clock that spun her life went forward a few months, slowly unwinding itself. 17 years, 4 months, and 2 days.

"I-I'm alright... I-I can undo it... on my own," she muttered with brief pauses, her heartbeat erratic and disrupting her ability to breath. They don't know her power, right? They can call her weak... or whatever they wanted. But that's only because... she never tried to hurt anybody. She never wanted to use her gift. So they don't know what it is. They don't know what I can actually do.

Small, unsteady footsteps. She managed to heal everything that could've damaged her heart or lungs, but her arm that absorbed most of the attack was something she disregarded. And Lamia felt light-headed. It really was like getting run over by a car, again... Her string of luck was so poor.

She was glad that Magic didn't try to correct her or take the blame. The one act of courage that she could've actually fulfilled. It made her really happy. Maybe she could finally catch up to the others on their journey... Maybe she wasn't that far off. No, you still have a long way to go. Pure chance that it worked. But that was fine... for now.

Contrary to what the other Winter thought - she wasn't scared of him at all. He hasn't done much that would make her terrified of him. If the others in the gym knew what she did, they'd really be scared of her, wouldn't they? A murderer in elementary school... The thought made her want to laugh. The same incident that made her lose her physical and mental strength.

Her fingers were clenched tightly onto her injured arm to try and support it for a bit. Why did it hurt so much to smile? Another soothing giggle as she finally managed to walk her way back to Magic. "Y-you're really trying y-your best... right?" she whispered softly, half to herself and half to him.

"I-I'm glad I can m-make a difference."

Barry watched as nearly of Lamia's wounds healed. He assumed that was her gift, so it really didn't surprise him. He backed off of her to give her some space. The autumn noticed Magic was muttering something to himself, but he didn't listen to what the Winter was saying because he was too far away to hear. He shrugged it off quickly, not taking a second thought on it.

The blonde had silent she didn't know how to react she gave a glance towards magic not sure what he was thinking. As Barry came to assist her in bringing LAmia to the Infirmy she mouthed a thank you but blinked when Lamia had said something like usual she wasn't very sure what she was saying but simply backed away when she had asked. Being simply amazed by Lamias gift the blonde couldn't help but stare as the wounds inflicted into her body had started to heal on it's own.

Magic just looked at Lamia with a sad look. How was she able to smile like this? How was she not running from him right now? He had hurt her so badly. She had to use her gift to fix it which was pretty cool by the way. Even her arm was not fully fixed.. "I'm sorry.... I'm sorry.." He said to her, not caring if Barry heard, or if he thought this whole thing was his fault. His hand gripped tightly to his sleeve, and he looked down to the ground, and shut his eyes.. "I was trying my best.. but I failed.." He said. "I failed so badly.. I hurt you again.." He didn't care if Barry got mad at him. He knew he would have to explain it one day.. Even his brother said so..

PostSubject: Re: Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open]   Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open] - Page 2 EmptyFri Jul 24, 2015 10:22 pm

"Y-you tr-tried your best..." Lamia insisted with a firmer tone, yet it still held that same dainty, gentle quality. It was kind of pathetic honestly... She couldn't say anything strongly because of her voice, and because it was so... soft. But she was positive that Magic hadn't done anything on purpose. At least she was positive he wouldn't. There was no way that the guy she met in the forest would purposefully turn on people he considered friends without a good reason. "T-try, try a-a-again until you succeed, r-right?"

Lamia was pretty sure her voice was too soft for Barry to hear - honestly. But if he did, hopefully he wouldn't confuse it with trying to eliminate her or whatever Magic had to "try" at. Turning to face away from the other Winter briefly, she brought her index finger to her lips, the other fingers clasped gently, and gave a small wink to the Autumn to ask about it later. There'd probably be a time and place where she'll admit the truth... Her words from before were sketchy and she had no time to plan it.

Spinning on her heel rather awkwardly so that she wasn't facing either of them, Lamia took a deep breath. She had to keep herself calm or else... or else he'd notice that she was still in pain. Damn, remind her not to get on Magic's bad side ever. Sound hurt far more than she originally thought. Somehow, the idea of playing the piano was starting to look more dangerous than joyful.

"U-Uhmm... A-are you two h-hurt or anything?" She had thought about saying 'alright', but she was pretty sure she was going to get a no from Magic. And no, Lamia didn't care that she was the only one actually injured in all of this. Who would care about someone so weak and useless? Her only purpose in life was so that other people had a stone to step on make themselves look powerful and better.

There's no way I'll catch up to everyone else right now... not in a million years.

Barry was just about to say something when he saw Lamia wink, a signal he assumed meant to ask later. Then the winter girl asked if he or Aspen were hurt. He looked at Aspen but she just looked a little shaken up. "We're fine. Just a little shaken up." he replied. He looked over to Magic and began to wonder what he meant by him "failing."

Magic just kept his gaze on the ground, and kind of turned his head away from the others. He felt so ashamed. Yeah he was going to try again, but he was bound to fail again. It was gonna take him a while to succeed.. A long while. Sadly he didn't believe he tried his best this time. He could have warned them. He hadn't even thought about asking if they were okay like Lamia had. He knew if he saw the two again, and Lamia wasn't there they would be bound to ask what happened.. And he wouldn't be able to lie to them. Not after this. The probably already questioned what Lamia had said.

PostSubject: Re: Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open]   Some People Shouldn't Fail [Open] - Page 2 EmptySat Jul 25, 2015 2:46 pm

A small, breathy giggle escaped her. It was always the same one, wasn't it? All because she wasn't sure what to do next.

Should she just leave n-- God no, that option was terrible at this point. If she tried to sneak away, they'd be suspicious first of all and she'd hurt people's feelings again. It'd only make her words from before seem like a lie. Maybe they could go somewhere else and try and talk this through? Somehow, Lamia doubted that Magic was willing to try and speak of the situation ever again. Or should she change the subject? No, that sounded worse. It would be insensitive and rude. Life was so fucking complicated. She couldn't think straight in tense situations and she never could take charge. What was she supposed to do now? Goddammit, fate was tossing her around like a rag doll. Just what life normally does to me... except with more alcohol. There were two kinds of people in this world: those who were fated with bad luck and those who were born lucky in a brighter place. The two Autumns seemed to be in that category... They wouldn't understand Magic's story. And definitely not her's.

Lamia locked Magic with an unreadable stare as he tried to, seemingly move away. She opened her mouth to say something, but the moments of peace were shattered long ago. Someone up there in their wonderfully comfortable throne and scepter was out to get her by making her life as miserable and frustrating as possible. That was the one thing she was certain of by now. If she tried anything, it would ruin the already fragile thread that held everything together thus far. The price of the choices they held up for her were far too expensive for her to pay. There really was nothing she could do.

Blinking, her eyes held a resigned look as they dropped to her shoes. Shaking her head, Lamia thought to herself the question that she always had to ask: What now? What can I do that would make a significant enough impact? She was glad she could make a small difference before out of luck. But now... she wasn't so sure. Was that really the right path to take? Goddammit, awkward silence. And she didn't know how to break it.

Barry, please save the situation from dying. QQ ilu2 < / 3

Barry wasn't sure what to do now so he looked to Aspen but she didn't look like she knew either. He shuffled his feet and gave an awkward cough before turning to Magic. "So... umm... what was that about?" he asked cautiously.
