History Synopsis ↠ Little is known about Kyou's life before the age of one. She was born somewhere in Japan, presumably Kyoto as she was dropped off at a small run-down orphanage there at only a few days old. No one saw her mother or father that night. Mysteriously, within a few days of her arrival at the orphanage, the owner was arrested for child abuse and various other crimes, and the orphanage was shut down. Kyou had been on the verge of death from neglect for her basic needs. While most of the other orphans had been transferred to various homes and children centers across Japan, she was sent to North Dakota by some fluke mistake. She was sent to the The Village Family Service Center in Bismark and lived there until it was time to transfer to Beata Academy.
Her childhood was rather quiet. Although she was a friendly child and had no issues socializing, the other orphans, and even possible parent options tended to avoid her. [WiP]

History Synopsis ↠ James was born in North Korea as Tseung Mi-nam alongside his twin sister, Mi-nyeo. Although the country remained in a state of dictatorship and internal strife for most people, Mi-nam's family was rather lucky in having little to no struggles in terms of income and other basic necessities to a peaceful life. His parents were surprised to discover their son's skin was impenetrable, a fact they discovered when he was only two years old. While playing in the kitchen one late afternoon, the young boy managed to slip a knife off the counter just as his mother walked into the room. It was then, as the knife virtually bounced off of his body, that they realized his abilities.
He was immediately sheltered and trained from a very young age not to let anyone see his gift. His twin sister was brought into question as well, but after a quick prick on the finger, they realized she was not as "lucky" as he was.
Although his parents protected him against any curious souls, he grew up as any normal child would be. His friends admired his adventurous personality, while his parents worried about his recklessness. Knowing there was no way from stopping him from expressing himself through dangerous activities, they thought training him to be able to do these activities without fail was the best option. Once he entered kindergarten, Mi-nam's parents pushed him into gymnastics, a luxury he greatly appreciated.
It was reaching his 13th birthday when disaster struck his home life. His father was fired from his job, his mother's health took a turn for the worst, and his sister had encountered some rough pursuers, preventing her from attending school. Without any income, the government intervened and threatened to remove Mi-nam and his sister from their home. The night before they were planned to be taken away, the family packed up as much as they could and fled into the night.
After a month of avoiding conflict, the family came to the realization that they could no longer live in North Korea. It was far-fetched in their mind, but stories of their family, Mi-nam's uncle, escaping gave them hope.
